Fox Host Greg Gutfeld Thinks Trump Has The Right To Destroy Evidence Against Him
On Friday, Fox News host Greg Gutfeld appeared confused over Donald Trump's newest indictments, saying that he didn't understand what the big deal is if Trump wanted to delete the server footage from his own golf resort. After all, as Gutfeld said, it was HIS footage to begin with, so what's wrong with destroying that evidence? Sometimes it is hard to tell if Gutfeld is genuinely ignorant, or if he's just playing a part for television, but Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains why Trump's attempts to delete the footage were illegal.

Some of the folks over at Fox News are trying to twist themselves into pretzels to defend what is ostensibly the on offend, uh, the, the undef defendable. Here's what's happening Thursday, as everybody knows, Donald Trump got hit with even more indictments in the documents case for, uh, attempting to destroy evidence in instructing employees to destroy evidence. So on Friday of last week, right after the indictments came down Friday, you had Greg Gutfeld on the five seem a little bit confused as to how Donald Trump could be in trouble for wanting to delete server footage from a server that he owns. Like, how is that illegal? Greg Gutfeld asks us, here is what Greg Gutfeld said on the air on national television this past Friday. What are they about surveillance cameras? What's wrong with that? What's wrong with like, are those yours? Why can't you clear them? I don't understand that.

I'm not surprised you don't understand that, Greg. But the question I actually have before I get into why your statement is completely stupid is, are you actually stupid or are you just playing this character on tv? Like we know based on past statements made by Tucker Carlson, you know about how Bill O'Reilly pretends to be one thing on the air, but he's really not that way at all. He just knows that's how you do the audience. And I have said for many years that a lot of people on the right are definitely not as stupid as they come across, but they pretend to be stupid so that they can defend the indefensible. And that's exactly what we're looking at here. So Greg Gutfeld, I fully believe is pretending to be a moron in this particular instance. He may be a real one. He may not be.

I can't tell. But I think in this case, he's definitely pretending 'cause he is acting like, but that's his stuff. Yeah. It's like if you had a bloody knife and a missing spouse and the cops came and said, Hey, um, don't get rid of anything in your house because you're under investigation and you take that bloody knife and you go throw it into the middle of the ocean. Like, but, but it's my bloody knife. I can do what I want with it, right, Greg? I mean, that's kind of what we're talking about here. Now here's the thing. Donald Trump allegedly instructed these individuals, and it's alleged because he has not been convicted. He allegedly instructed these individuals to wipe the servers clean of all the surveillance footage after the subpoenas came in. And that's what makes it illegal. Now, technically, had Donald Trump just had these people go and delete this server footage, you know, months ago, weeks ago before the subpoenas came, he could have done that. Now, if he knew he was under investigation at the time and instructed them to delete it, even if the subpoenas had not come, then

That would also be an actionable offense. But if there was no indication, if there was no investigation, and he just said, Hey, by the way, guys, uh, let's clear out that server footage, right? The, the cloud storage is getting a little full. Let's get rid of what, whatever's on there, he could do that because as Gutfeld said, yes, it was his footage.
