Final Fantasy IV: The After Years [PC] #037, Lunarians: Zeromus's Malice; End of Tale
This is video #037 in my playthrough of Final Fantasy IV: The After Years for the PC. This is episode 4 of The Lunarians' Tale: The Blue Planet That Was.

Previously, Golbez and Fusoya investigated the Lair of the Father and found that something had happened to Bahamut. Back at the Crystal Palace, they fought the Mysterious Girl again and learned that there are more of her! They began making their way back to the Lunar Core to save the Lunarians. Now, they will continue towards the Lunar Core and will finish the Lunarians' Tale.
Lunar Subterrane:
The party regains control in the save room on floor B4 in the Lunar Subterrane. They continue their descent.
Fusoya reaches Level 38.
When they emerge in the southwest of B4's main hall, they go downstairs to floor B5. As they do, another short scene takes place up in the Crystal Palace. They had best hurry!
When they reach the first connecting hallway on B5, they take the southeastern exit. This takes them to the third level, eastern side of B5.
Golbez reaches Level 39.
A chest in the northeast of B5 contains a suit of Ice Armor. Golbez sticks with the Ebony Robe, since he has the Ice Shield for fire protection.
When the party reaches the bottom level of B5, they take the eastern door. The chest in the room beyond contains a Remedy.
After using the convenient healing pot, the party continues downstairs to floor B6.
On B6, they go west across the invisible bridge on the middle level. Then, they go downstairs through the next hidden passage.
In the west on the bottom level of B6, a chest contains a Luminous Robe. Fusoya equips this for now.
Fusoya reaches Level 39.
In the east, the party finds a teleporter. This takes them to the southern end of the western stairway on B6.
Upstairs, they find another teleporter. This one takes them to the southern end of the western stairway on B5.
Halfway up the stairway, a chest contains a Soma Drop.
The teleporter at the top of the stairway leads to a save room. The southern door exits to the fourth level eastern walkway on B5. There was a sealed weapon here in Final Fantasy IV, but there is nothing right now.
After saving in the save room, the party backtracks to the main part of floor B6.
Golbez reaches Level 40.
When the party reaches the main part of B6, they go back up to B5 to use the handy healing pot. Then, back on B6, they take the door on the mid-level eastern walkway.
As they take the stairway to B7, another scene takes place in the Crystal Palace.
Fusoya reaches Level 40.
On B7, the party can now take all the doors along the southern hallway. The middle room is empty. In the eastern room, there are chests that contain

Previously, Heorot did some leveling as White Mage in Dangruf Wadi and reached Level 95. In this video, he will go to Dangruf Wadi for more grinding as Black Mage.
Heorot resumes in his Mog House in Bastok. In his delivery box, he gets back two Pellucid Stones that did not sell at auction. He also receives gil for a stack of Fire Crystals and a stack of Earth Crystals that sold. Many thanks to the buyers! Heorot changes his main job to Level 93 Black Mage with White Mage as support job. He puts a couple of items away in his Mog Safe.
Afterwards, he heads out to Bastok Mines.
Bastok Mines (time 1:56):
Heorot uses the Survival Guide at I-9 to teleport to Dangruf Wadi, Gustaberg.
Dangruf Wadi (time 2:45):
Heorot arrives at K-10. With the Grounds Tome nearby, he signs up for the Page 5 individual training to defeat 4 Witchetty Grubs and 2 Goblin Headsmen per training regime.
He can find these enemies fairly easily northeast and west of I-8. The Goblins, of course, are aggressive. The Witchetty Grubs are not, but they do link, so be careful.
During the grinding, Heorot reaches Black Mage Level 95.
When he has finished, he Warps back to Bastok Markets.
Bastok Markets (time 1:18:14):
Heorot trades his Copper A.M.A.N. Vouchers to Isakoth at E-11. In Mjoll's Goods, he sells his loot to Olwyn at E-11.
Then, Heorot teleports to Bastok Mines.
Bastok Mines (time 1:21:09):
At the auction house, Heorot puts a stack of Fire Crystals, a stack of Earth Crystals, and a stack of Lightning Crystals up for sale.
Afterwards, he enters the residential area.
Mog House (time 1:23:10):
Heorot signs off. Next time, he will continue grinding.

Previously, Heorot continued grinding in Escha - Ru'Aun. He has earned a total of 188 Job Points as Red Mage. In this video, he will do some more Job Point grinding as Red Mage in Escha - Ru'Aun.
Heorot resumes in his Mog House in Bastok. He picks up a couple of Merit Point upgrades.
Then, he heads out to Bastok Mines.

Heorot teleports to Misareaux Coast, Tavnazian Archipelago.

Heorot arrives at Home Point #1 at G-5. Up the hill, he examines the Undulating Confluence at G-5 to enter Escha - Ru'Aun.
Escha - Ru'Aun (time 2:24):
Heorot arrives at H-11. After summoning his Trust NPCs, he hunts some more Eschan Il'aern in this zone.
Due to an untimely encounter with a Warder of Temperance, Heorot retreats through the Undulating Confluence at H-11 to Misareaux Coast, Tavnazian Archipelago.
Misareaux Coast (time 8:35):
Heorot uses the Undulating Confluence at G-5 to reenter Escha - Ru'Aun.
Escha - Ru'Aun (time 9:09):
He summons his Trust NPCs and continues hunting Eschan Il'aern.
Heorot accrues 1 Job Point for an overall total of 189 Job Points earned. He has a current total of 3 Job Points.
When he has finished for now, he uses the Undulating Confluence at H-11 to return to Misareaux Coast, Tavnazian Archipelago.

Heorot arrives at G-5. Just down the hill to the west, he uses Home Point #1 at G-5 to teleport to Port Jeuno.
Port Jeuno (time 1:06:46):
Heorot trades his Crests to Shami at H-8 for storage.
Then, he teleports to Bastok Markets.
Bastok Markets (time 1:08:27):
Heorot trades his Copper A.M.A.N. Voucher to Isakoth at E-11. In Mjoll's Goods, he sells his loot to Olwyn at E-11.
Then, he teleports to Bastok Mines.

At the auction house, Heorot puts three Plutons up for sale. He also visits Crying Wind, I.M., at H-10 to get his Signet renewed.

Previously, Heorot continued the Aht Urhgan storyline. In Treasures of Aht Urhgan Mission 29: "Puppet in Peril", he helped Aphmau try to save Ovjang from the Mamool Ja near Mamook. However, Luzaf abducted the puppets, and Aphmau went after him. Then, in Aht Urhgan Mission 30: "Prevalence of Pirates", Amnaf instructed Heorot to search Periqia for the Black Coffin. Now, he will do just that for Aht Urhgan Mission 31: "Shades of Vengeance".
Heorot resumes in his Mog House in Bastok. He exits to Bastok Mines.
Bastok Mines (time 0:49):
Heorot talks to Zopago in the Chocobo Stables. He gets the Day 96 status report for his chocobo, Amber Beauty, and gives her some care.
Afterwards, Heorot uses the Survival Guide at I-9 to teleport to the Aht Urhgan Whitegate, West Aht Urhgan.
Aht Urhgan Whitegate (time 5:39):
In the Chamber of Passage, Heorot uses the Runic Portal at L-7 to teleport to the Dvucca Isle Staging Point in Caedarva Mire, Arrapago Islands.
Caedarva Mire (time 7:05):
Heorot arrives at I-9 in the Dvucca Isle Staging Point on the second map. If he needs a new Periqia Assault Area Entry Permit, he can get one from Nahshib once per Vana'diel day.
With the Periqia Assault Area Entry Permit in hand, Heorot examines the Runic Seal at I-9. He chooses the mission "Shades of Vengeance". He is transported to Periqia.
Periqia (time 8:56):
Heorot arrives at F-8 in the northwest of Periqia. This Assault mission allows the player to use Trust alter-egos.
At H-9, there is a gang of K23H1-LAMIAE. They are aggressive, and they also link. Heorot's party must defeat at least three of these fiends.
Once Heorot's party has defeated three K23H1-LAMIAE, the battle concludes. Lengthy cutscenes take place. Among other things, we learn more about Aht Urhgan's court puppetmaster and the vizier. I suspected the puppetmaster's true identity. But we also learn more about Luzaf. Aht Urhgan Mission 31: "Shades of Vengeance" complete!
Caedarva Mire (time 40:30):
After the scenes, Heorot regains control at the Dvucca Isle Staging Point in Caedarva Mire.
Aht Urhgan Mission 32: "In the Blood" begins. Time to report to Naja Salaheem at the office.
Heorot uses the Runic Portal at I-9 to return to the Aht Urhgan Whitegate.
Aht Urhgan Whitegate (time 41:17):
In Salaheem's Sentinels, Heorot talks to Naja Salaheem at I-10. More lengthy cutscenes take place. After some "creative deductions", Heorot earns a reward of one Imperial Gold Piece. Aht Urhgan Mission 32: "In the Blood" complete!

Previously, Psaro made his way through the Circle of Conquest, Lower Echelon. At the Maulosseum, he met Furgil again. He undertook Category G and earned a piece of Yellow Travelite. When Psaro returned Rosehill Tower to Rosehill in Terrestria, Monty arrived and unlocked monster synthesis. Now, before Psaro heads to the next circle of Nadiria, he will seek treasures, grind, and scout monsters in the Plains and in the Circle of Conquest, Lower Echelon.

Previously, Heorot finished training up to Level 50 as Beastmaster. Then, he switched over to Bard. He trained up to Level 15 in South Gustaberg and picked up several Bard songs. Now, he will continue training as Bard.
Heorot resumes in his Mog House in Bastok. He exits to Bastok Mines.
Bastok Mines (time 0:37):
Heorot uses the Survival Guide at I-9 to teleport to Konschtat Highlands, Zulkheim.
Konschtat Highlands (time 1:22):
He arrives at the Survival Guide at G-3. He exits northwest to Valkurm Dunes.
Valkurm Dunes (time 2:17):
Heorot arrives at M-11 in the southeast. He uses the Field Manual at L-11 to sign up for the Page 1 individual training to defeat 7 Hill Lizards and 1 Sand Hare per training regime. He sets out to focus on these enemies as well as Goblins.
When he can, he uses the Scroll of Foe Requiem II to learn the Bard song Foe Requiem II.
Eventually, Heorot reaches Level 27 as Bard.
Now, it is time to shop for some more songs. First, Heorot uses the Survival Guide at H-7 to teleport to Ru'Lude Gardens, Jeuno.
Ru'Lude Gardens (time 34:28):
He teleports to Upper Jeuno.
Upper Jeuno (time 35:08):
Heorot visits M & P's Market at G-6. He sells off some loot. From Champalpieu, he picks up a Scroll of Wind Threnody and a Scroll of Water Threnody. He uses them to learn the Bard songs Wind Threnody and Water Threnody.
Then, Heorot teleports to Southern San d'Oria.
Southern San d'Oria (time 38:20):
Valeriano and his troupe are in whichever country is in first place, as long as there is not a tie for the lead. When San d'Oria is in first place, the player can find him at I-9 in Southern San d'Oria. Heorot talks to Valeriano and picks up a Piccolo and a Scroll of Scop's Operetta. He uses the scroll to learn the Bard song Scop's Operetta. He also equips his new Piccolo.
Next, Heorot teleports to Windurst Waters.
Windurst Waters (time 41:04):
Heorot visits Ensasa's Catalysts at H-9. He talks to Ensasa and picks up a Scroll of Fire Threnody. He uses it to learn the Bard song Fire Threnody.
Then, he teleports to Southern San d'Oria.
Southern San d'Oria (time 43:10):
Heorot talks to Ferdoulemiont at I-11 just outside the Chocobo Stables. He picks up a Scroll of Knight's Minne II and uses it to learn the Bard song Knight's Minne II.
Next, Heorot teleports to Port Jeuno.
Port Jeuno (time 45:11):
Heorot goes down the stairs at I-8 and enters the Jeuno Duty-Free Shop at H-8. From Leyla, he picks up a Scroll of Learned Etude, a Scroll of Spirited Etude, and a Scroll of Enchanting Etude. He uses them to learn the Bard songs Learned Etude

Previously, the party began gathering ingredients for the Steel Protection X gem. They gathered Flak Scrap Iron from Kurria Flaks in the Hangar Zone of Origin. They also began gathering Metal Vokooku Shards from Eruno Vokookus northeast of the Amplifier Control Room. They will now continue gathering ingredients for Steel Protection X.

The party resumes at the Amplifier Control Room rest area in the Amplifier Section of Origin. They cook some more Highly-Piley Ocean's Bounty.
The party goes out the doors to the north. In the North Shell Passage, they continue hunting Eruno Vokookus for Metal Vokooku Shards. Burst combos help, at least when the party has the opportunity to pull them off. As usual, they quick-save and reload when they need to make the enemies respawn.
Taion reaches max rank in Soulhacker. He remains in the class for now.
Eventually, the party finishes collecting 30 Metal Vokooku Shards of the correct rarity.
Next, the party skip travels to the Househunter Carly grave near the Forward Post Camp in Alfeto Valley, Aetia Region. They repeatedly resurrect the Househunter Carly, a Level 21 unique Krabble, and defeat it for Krabble Shield Pincers.
Upon defeating the Househunter Carly once, the Soulhacker learns the master art Bubble Cloud.
When the party has finished hunting for now, they go to the Forward Post Camp to rest and save. Next time, they will continue gathering materials for the Steel Protection X gem.

Previously, the party wrapped up the Glen substory with Quest 054 and had a rematch against Swordmaster Oren. Hopefully, His Boniness is now at rest. Then, the party began the Julette substory with Quests 060 and 061. They are helping Cat Riberio, of all people. They will now carry out the rest of the Julette substory.
Julette (time 0:28):
The party resumes in the church in the Town of Julette. They go outside and Zoom to Muse Coast - King's Island Pier.
Muse Coast (time 3:22):
The party takes the ferry at E-8 to King Radis Island.
King Radis Island (time 3:41):
The party enters Cat Riberio's hut at C-3/C-4. This triggers a scene with Riberio and Meowji. The feline pair issues Quest 062: "Cat Wearing GO, Nya", the third Julette substory quest. Google Translate isn't doing too well with these quest names, eh? Now, Riberio thinks he can get Somya to stand up for him with Cat Mamma. I'm dubious. The first objective is to talk to Somya in Julette.

King Radis Island (time 8:52):
The party enters Cat Riberio's hut at C-3/C-4. A scene with Somya, Cat Riberio, and Meowji takes place within. As I figured, Riberio is not Somya's favorite person due to the business with Junior, but it seems there is a way to win her over. The party's next objective is to talk to a woman named Soneze in Velinard Castle Town.
The party leaves Riberio's hut and Zooms to Velinard Castle Town.
Velinard (time 13:39):
In the west of town, the party enters the house at A-5/B-5 on the upper level and talks to the woman, Soneze. After a discussion about Somya, she gives the party the Letter to Somya (ソーミャ宛ての手紙) key item. The next destination is Cat Riberio's hut on King Radis Island.
The party leaves the house and Zooms to Muse Coast - King's Island Pier.

The party takes the ferry at E-8 to King Radis Island.

The party enters Cat Riberio's hut at C-3/C-4. A cutscene sequence with Cat Riberio, Meowji, and Somya takes place within. Quest 062 complete! The party earns 3 Urubea Silver Coins (ウルベア銀貨).
The party goes outside and then reenters Cat Riberio's hut at C-3/C-4. Another cutscene with Cat Riberio, Meowji, and Somya takes place. Quest 063: "I Want You to Forgive Me, Nya", the fourth Julette substory quest, begins. The first objective is to visit Cat Mamma at the Giant Cats' Nest on Cat Island.
The party leaves Riberio's hut and Zooms to Cat Island - Giant Cats' Nest.
Cat Island (time 24:36):
The party enters the Giant Cats' Nest at F-8.
Giant Cats' Nest (time 24:52):
The party talks to Cat Mamma at D-7/E-7 in the south. A scene with numerous characters takes place. The party must help Cat Riberio deal with an old foe, a fiend named Hippopo Sardon. The next destination is the Melting Sea Cave in Curarana Beach.
After the scene, the party Zooms to the Seaside Trading Post in the South Velinard Region.
South Velinard Region (time 29:49):
The party takes the ferry at E-8 to Curarana Beach.
Curarana Beach (time 30:14):
The party explores the eastern portion of Curarana Beach before they head into the Melting Sea Cave.
At F-2/F-3 on the northeastern sandbar, a black chest contains a Giant Tortoise Shell (大きなこうら).
At G-5 on the eastern bridge, a barrel contains Mini Medal #115, counting the 20 Heorot has exchanged so far. Another barrel at G-5 contains a Strong Medicine (上やくそう).
On the eastern islet, a black chest at H-5 contains 3 Spiny Sea Urchins (とげウニ).
At D-6, the party examines the crystal. This adds the Melting Sea Cave destination to the Zoom Stone.
The party enters the Melting Sea Cave (海のとける洞窟) at D-6.

Previously, the party gained access to the Lunar Whale, which can ferry them between the Blue Planet and the Moon. They found the Hummingway Abode on the Moon. They also carried out some side stuff. They found Namingway in Mysidia and in the Hummingway Abode. They got Kokkol to reforge the Mythgraven Blade into the Excalibur. They also woke up Yang and got his augments and the Sylph summon. Now, they will wrap up the side stuff they will do for now and then continue with the story.
The party resumes near Mysidia on the Blue Planet's Overworld. Next, they will look for Namingway. I have already found his location, so I will go directly to it. For reference, Namingway can appear in any of the following locations:
- A Chocobo Forest
- Floor B1 of the Underground Lake near Damcyan
- The Summit of Mount Hobs
- In the northern part of the town of Troia
- Floor B1 of the Lair of the Father
- Floor B2 of the Sylph Cave
The party boards the Lunar Whale and take it to the Moon.
Lunar Surface (time 0:49):
In the east of the Lunar Surface, there is a ring-shaped ridge surrounding a smaller mountain that has a cave entrance. This cave is the Lair of the Father.
Lair of the Father (time 1:57):
The party starts on floor B1 of the Lair of the Father. Be very careful here; there are some powerful monsters lurking. In particular, Dark Sages can nuke the party with -aga spells. Edge especially will take a lot of damage.
The party goes south, then east. They go northeast through a hidden passage.
In the northeast, they find Namingway/Hummingway in one of his possible locations. He is journeying once again. Now, he is Going-my-way the Free Spirit. He rewards the party with his final augment, the Safe Travel augment. This concludes the Namingway side quest!
For playing through all the Namingway events, the player earns the Steam achievement "Rabbit Chaser".
Since Cecil is always in the party, he is a perfect recipient for the Safe Travel augment, so he learns it. He also equips it for now. The party leaves the Lair of the Father.
Lunar Surface (time 5:25):
Boarding the Lunar Whale, the party flies close to the next story location. Then, they return to the Blue Planet.
Blue Planet Overworld (time 6:31):
The party lands near Mysidia. They transfer to the Enterprise and pick up the Hovercraft. Then, they fly west to Eblan Island. After letting the Hovercraft down and landing, they take the Hovercraft to the Cave of Eblan.
Cave of Eblan (time 7:50):
With the Safe Travel ability equipped, the party makes their way quickly through the Cave of Eblan.
