For artists, there are two common scams that you may fall victim to. Learn what to watch out for.
Scammers prey upon the natural human instinct to be kind, decent, helpful human beings, often by using distractions and emotional pleas.
The most common scams are, fortunately, easy to spot, and both can be prevented by ALWAYS following one very important rule:
Never ship that art until the cheque clears!
Good luck to you out there.

Months ago I was visiting up north where there is less light pollution. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to make a midnight timelapse. The heavy clouds were rolling in fast and I didn't expect to get much of anything, especially with my 24-200mm which is hardly built for astro or low light work. But I was impressed by what I got!

Technology is making it easier and easier to consumer content, and harder and harder to find time to think new thoughts of your own.

"HEY, WHITE PERSON"
I generally prefer it when people address me by my name, rather than defining me by something I had absolutely no control over.
"Tired of Political correctness"
Fuck yes!
"Wondering why only white countries have to become ‘multicultural’?"
Um...have you ever been to other countries?
"Figured out that diversity only means ‘less white people’?"
That's not how it works. You can have the same number of white people, plus additional people. You could even have more white people and more additional people.
The fact is, white people aren't having enough children to maintain the populations levels. The only reason we have for "less white people" is white people who don't fuck enough.
"Sick of being blamed for all the world’s problems?"
I do not feel like I have been personally blamed for the world's problems, it's the rich Billionaire class that I see taking the blame. Among bankers and heavy industry, those people happen to be white, but they are not being blamed because they are white. And a number of those billionaires in the oil industry are Saudi. I don't believe the citizens of Saudi Arabia are generally seen as white.
"Tired of being told you’re a ‘racist’ for celebrating your heritage?"
I've never been called racist for celebrating St. Patrick's, or Robbie Burns Day, or while using the fruits of the industrial revolution, or while reading about all the important historical figures that happen to share my skin tone. Many of them even have statues!
"Disgusted by the garbage on television?"
Oh god yes!
"Don’t see a future for yourself or your family?"
I'm not able to afford a future or a family because wages have been stagnant for an entire generation because our governments bend to the will of business, not people. Inflation continues and house prices continue to soar.
If only governments would adapt to the changing workplace, stop gutting unions, demand employers improve the benefits they provide, raise the minimum wage.
"Questioning when immigration will stop?"
I am a child of immigrants. One right off the boat, one a few generations back. We are a nation of immigrants. If immigration is a concern, I think our attention would be better focused on the abuse of the temporary foreign worker program.

More fun with polarizers!
You can learn far more than twice as much about polarization when you have two sets of polarized glasses.

I was camping at Algonquin last week.
While I was at Burnt Island Lake, I set up my camera for some timelapse photography. It looked like a storm was approaching, and I wanted to test out a new camera rain cover I had picked up. As you can see from the video, once the rain starts, the clip ends. The rain bag was a failure. I'm glad I checked on my camera when I did, otherwise I would have lost it from water damage.
Once the rain ended, I neglected to clean my lens and resumed shooting.
Captured on my Nikon Z6 with the 24-200mm /4-6.3 lens.
Auto ISO and Program Automatic work together really well to allow for capturing the full range of exposures from the start of golden hour to astronomical dusk. You might notice the exposure length and ISO noise both increase as the video progresses.

When I first got my little land urchin, I was a little intimidated by the idea of picking him up.
But how? He's so prickly!
If you reach down and grab the little spike potato, you will have one unhappy hedgie.
To lift up a hedgehog, use two hands, and swoop in from below.
