CI53, Taipei via Brisbane, is one of 2 China Airline's services that fly into Auckland International Airport as well as CI51 from Taipei via Sydney. These aircraft numbers alternate daily except for every saturday when there are 2 flights on one day. This flight number (CI53) is serviced by a 747-400 in the spring and summer and a A330-300 in the autumn and winter. Not a good evening for spotting with chilling southerly/Antarctic winds at 35km/h gusting 45km/h but I tried to make the most of the conditions I had while also giving my new tripod head a test run. By the filming alone, I am not impressed with the outcome but as I continue to get used to the tripod I hope I will have more stability and confidence with it. Unfortunately, I was late to the party having already missed half of the evening rush and the lighting conditions were ever-changing as the clouds continuously blocked and unblocked the sun.
