Opening your Mindset 2.1 read god damn books, especially *fiction*! (Listening is good, too.) 2.2 Use *uncensored* social media (or at least strive to un-censor who you follow and read on twitter and farcebook.. good luck) 2.3 Travel and/or learn another language 1.1 School and Academia My initial hopes for developing Xenophilosophy were stifled out of existence by the amazingly constrictive nature of graduate school, in two main ways: 1.1.1 The profs, who have been so immersed in their academic echo chamber for so long, that they see creativity as "problematic" and basically unacceptable "at this level of academia." This is why it took me so long to even find a topic for my thesis. 1.1.2 Fellow students come from such a sheltered background (mainly upper-middle class white kids in their 20s,) that they themselves couldn't even cope with half the things that I would say-- a very big problem of constant incredulity (Turkish airport story, passport...) 1.1.3 Ideology and -isms --Political and social theories and beliefs that constrain you world view are alway already an obstacle to free thought.
