Crasher Wake is one of the Sinnoh Leaders in the Pokémon World Tournament that can be battled in either the Sinnoh Leaders or World Leaders Tournaments. Crasher Wake is skilled in using Water type Pokémon. Floatzel will use Bulk Up to gain stats and Aqua Jet to strike first. Empoleon will use Featherdance to lower the target’s Attack stat and Grass Knot on heavier foes. Ludicolo will use Rain Dance to make its Swift Swim ability take effect and Giga Drain to steal HP from opponents. Gastrodon will use Counter when hit by a physical attack to draw back the attack for twice the damage. Poliwrath will combo by using Hypnosis and Focus Punch. Gyarados will use Dragon Dance to speed up and Outrage for brutal strikes for 2-3 turns. Cerulean City’s gym leader, Misty uses Water type Pokémon. Don’t let any of your Pokémon raise their stats because Golduck can use Psych Up to copy off them. Quagsire will use Amnesia to raise its Special Defense stat then Rain Dance to make it rain for 5 turns. When Lapras uses Perish Song, all Pokémon on the field hearing it will faint in 3 turns. Starmie will use Confuse Ray to confuse opponents then Recover to restore HP when in danger. After winning, you’ll receive the Cascade Badge.

Alomomola has a combo of Toxic, Wish, and Protect along with the first striking Aqua Jet. Snorlax will stun opponents by using Yawn or Body Slam. Moves like Brick Break and Thunderbolt would work best for this round.

Bruno uses Fighting type Pokémon. Hitmontop will use Dig to avoid attacks then strike the next turn. It will also use Quick Attack as a finishing move. Hitmonlee will confuse targets by using Swagger then use its kicking attacks. Hitmonchan will strike first by using Mach Punch and the other punching moves can cause status problems. Onix will summon a sandstorm that lasts for 5 turns that hurts every turn but not on Rock, Ground, and Steel types. Machamp will use Cross Chop for more critical hits and Rock Slide on those who try to take advantage over it.

After completing your mission at Silph Co. and getting all the other 7 gym badges, return to Viridian City and enter the gym. This gym has a maze with items and arrow tiles that make you spin. You’ll battle a few trainers as you navigate the maze. Once you solve the maze, you’ll take on Giovanni once more. Giovanni uses Ground type Pokémon. Dugtrio has great Speed and will use Dig to avoid attacks the first turn then strike the next turn. Nidoqueen will use Body Slam to paralyze targets while Nidoking will use Thrash to repeat for 2-3 turns then become confused. Rhydon knows Horn Drill and Fissure, both of each move that takes an opponent down in one hit but doesn’t work if a target is faster. After winning, you’ll receive the Earth Badge and a TM27 (Fissure). Fissure is a Ground type move that takes an opponent down in one hit but won’t work against faster targets.
