NamelessRC N47 HD toothpick. It only took 8 months to review! Supplied by NamelessRC
This HD toothpick from NamelessRC landed on my doorstep back in November of 2019, but after a few pieces of bad luck (and worse piloting) things got a bit delayed. But we're back to finish things off !
The big buzz right now seems to be the concept of capturing the gyro data of a flight and then using it with the Open Source Gyroflow software to stabilize your footage. Whilst this can be done using your flight controller's black box logging, it is of course much easier to have a camera that has it's own gyro and writes the data out at the same time as recording HD footage. This is exactly what the RunCam Thumb can do, and is super cheap as well. But is it any good? Let's find out.

I normally find LoS flying dull, it was my great plasure to meet OMEGOOLIEBIRD/Rupes at a recent gathering and watch him fly his pretty amazing 6s planes. This gave me a massive smile, and made me super-jealous of his eyes and general skills as well !
This flying is not lipo friendly. A few minutes of flight, and if the lipos aren't actually on fire, that's a good result. Most of the time they smelt like they'd been burning though !
Check out his channel which is full of goodness here https://www.youtube.com/user/OMEGOOLIEBIRD

I don't do many pure flying videos, but I went out with my 3 Aurora lipos and found some interesting sites where I could mess around in the tree's a bit.
There's no particular method or route I'm trying to go here... in retrospect, perhaps it would have created some smoother flights if I had worked out where to go, or done a few lipos in one place - but that's raw flying for you - I'm winging it !
This was my first attempt at anything resembling a tree dive - I am miles away ! I think I'm subconsciously stopping myself from getting closer as I'm scared of getting the quad stuck.
The Aurora was so agile, it made navigating around a breeze - I was loving this type of flying. I'll have to come back for more and try to get better !
The quad was very kindly provided by Banggood for review, so here's an (affiliate)link for the quad -

I've been working on this quad for ages it seems. It was very cheap to put together, but I've had to spend extra time in trying to get it smoother, and as you can see - these efforts aren't paying off !
One of the motors sounds really ill now, this could be a source of most of the vibes.
If you can hear a little voice calling out stuff, that's a sample of my doughtier via my Taranis radio

Quick and boring flights, just to make sure I didn't break my 9X module completely ! The evenings are starting to close in a bit here, my FPV cam went into low-light mode a few times !
Despite what it might look like, this was of course a full UK legal FPV flight - it's just that my spotter, Invisible Tommy, is a bit camera shy so likes to hide behind trees whenever the camera is near.
