I woke up really early today, wrote something, and made it into a little piece? if you closed your eyes for the last time today, would you open your eyes to the beauty in your life? would you take the leap on all of your ‘might’s’? and take in all of the world’s delights? if I knew that I’d be leaving I’d find heaven on earth right here I’d forgive those who left me seething and forget that old pest called fear I’d laugh until my skin withers cry until I flooded all the rivers find magic in the simplest of pleasures and even in darkness I’d seek the treasures rather than let “One day..” spill into “Two days..” I’d know that I truly only have today for there are no rewinds in this life and there are no replays would chance be such a fine thing? if I knew I already had everything? would I treat a stranger as a brother? and love this Earth like a mother? if I knew that by twilight I would die would I know what it’s like to feel alive? would I be dancin’ and romancin’ in good vibes? or be held hostage by that thing called the mind? and if I happened to fall asleep forever tonight I’d give it my all to fully relight I’d look in the mirror, say I love you I’d look up to Mr Sky, say hello beautiful blue I’d be dazzled by a rainbow again for the very first time and say thank you, I’ll miss you, to all my partners in crime and last but not least I’d give myself permission to just be me I’d find the lightness of being at brand new heights because I’ve stopped searching for false paradise if I really knew that I’d be entering the gateway, I wouldn’t melt such precious time away for at last, sweet salvation I’ve realised that what I make of today is truly my own creation thank you for watching. make today special. * if you'd like to see more from me, subscribe! * find me over at: relightwithkathryn.co.uk * on instagram: @relight.withkathryn I would love to hear from you.
