Riddles? The First Arduino compatible 5GHz Wi-Fi Chip
The first cheap chip supporting 5GHz Wi-Fi is the Realtek RTL8720 and it should be Arduino compatible. But is it any good? And which tricks do we need to know? Or is it better to wait for the new ESP32, which should also support 5GHz Wi-Fi? Let’s test it out! And discover that the manufacturer included a multi-level adventure game, free of charge. I am a proud Patreon of @GreatScott!, @ElectroBOOM , @Electronoobs , @EEVblog , and others. No Docker, No Microsoft Teams, Zoom
Today we will start to understand how RFID cards work and how they can be used with your Arduino. You will see, which cards and readers are available and how they compare, we read RFID cards from a hotel and a trade show, and we will do some experiments to protect your cards against attacks. And maybe we even clone cards? All legal, or at least, sort of.

Many projects want to create the next Arduino, we are at the verge of new concepts, which want to drive the standardization to a new level and promises to make things even easier than before.
Massimo Banzi announced the ESLOV, . This attracted my attention. Today, I want to look inside one of these new systems: The crowtails from Elecrow. Microduino announced two different products and Wemos presented shields for its Wemos D1 Mini ESP8266 boards.
I will have a look into the crowtails from Elecrow.

In video #153 I introduced the DPS5005, an excellent power supply. Unfortunately, the fan in the case was very loud.
So let’s solve this issue in less than five minutes and for about a dollar. And maybe you can use this also for other nagging fans…

We all waited for a long time for native USB boot on the Raspberry Pi4. Today I booted the first time like that, and I show you how you can do, too. No need for an SD card anymore. Hurray!

This tutorial shows how you can connect many devices (sensors and displays) to one Arduino using the I2C bus. It starts with a simple hommade bus, shows how to find out the addresses of the different devices and ends with a demo of a system with three devices connected to an Arduino Uno: A BMP085 pressure sensor, a MPR121 touch sensor, and a SSD1306 OLED display.
The tutorial applies also for Attiny, ESP8266 and STM32 boards like the Maple Mini

We makers love project ideas. And if they serve the community, it is even better! In this video, I will show you what some Makers and the biggest city in Switzerland made of this concept. Maybe you find some ideas for you? And perhaps such an event is an idea for your city?
