It’s as if the funding mechanisms force us to be biased towards the Universe behaving a certain way… For example, how many WIMP detectors are we going to build before we begin throwing money at other experiments and/or theories of dark matter? 30:00 COVID-19 has really made me think about this - do we not communicate complexity enough? I'd argue we don't and our failure to do so leads to such sayings as "Party of Science", "trust the science", or "science-denier." Many people I encounter might have these terms weaponized against them but they are generally just noticing a complexity that wasn't communicated to them and trying to understand it.
