How To Turn a Frame into a Shadow Box (verbose): https://youtu.be/tx-1oOLC1cQ
Watch how a standard picture frame is transformed into a shadow box, where the artwork looks like it's floating above the surface of the mat board backing.
This is the concise version of this video, where I name and show every tool. I also show each step.
This video is best suited for someone who has moderate custom framing experience and is familiar with framing artworks.
If you would like a more detailed explanation for turning a regular frame into a shadow box, a longer version of this video can be found here:

My favourite band is nine inch nails.
My birthday is July 20th
ADD VIOLENCE, the new EP from nine inch nails comes out July 21st
But they released the new music early.
So I get to listen to a brand new album from my favourite band for the very first time on my birthday!
Skip to the very end if you just want my review. (which is a thumbs up)
video: Kyle Clements, 2017
audio: Whatever leaked out of my headphones and made it into the D600 on-camera mic and survived noise reduction. (Plus noise from my computer fan.)

I don't believe an artwork should be a footnote to an essay.
An artwork should be able to stand and be appreciated on it's own.

My hedgie crunches on some freeze dried meal worms.
The little land urchin likes these more than live ones. Weird.

I was camping at Algonquin last week.
While I was at Tom Thomson Lake, I set up my camera for some timelapse photography.
I missed the first (sub par) sunset of the trip due to a battery running out on me. The next night was bleak and grey. But I was determined to capture at least one decent Algonquin sunset timelapse on this trip. Fortunately, I was treated to this beautiful view on my last night of camping. I didn't have to extend the trip and miss work!
Captured on my Nikon Z6 with the 24-200mm /4-6.3 lens.
Auto ISO and Program Automatic work together really well to allow for capturing the full range of exposures from the start of golden hour to astronomical dusk. You might notice the exposure length and ISO noise both increase as the video progresses.

I was trying to feed the birds on a lovely Sunday afternoon.
I ended up feeding this little fella instead. This black squirrel was very happy to dig through the dry leaves and hunt for those sunflower seeds.

The big new lockdown order made a difference - for two days, then it's back to normal. Crowding on the TTC seems to be getting worse, not better.
