Here is a recipe for crockpot chili made from food storage ingredients.
It tastes great and no one will ever suspect it does not have meat in it
as the TVP sausage bits and Soy protein strips give the chili an excellent meaty flavor.
I tried to make this recipe something I would enjoy eating for a long time.
It has gone very well with rice or macaronis and if the broth is removed
the beans and vegetables make a great filling for burritos and tacos.
Chili food storage ingredients recipe
1 cup dried pinto beans soaked 24 hours and drained 3 times.
water to cover beans and cook in crockpot until desired tenderness
2 TBS TVP sausage bits
2TBS dried parsley
1 TBS minced garlic or garlic powder or dried minced garlic
1 handful of butler soy Curls
2 TBS dried minced onions
1 Tbs dried green and red pepper
1 15 ounce can diced tomatoes with celery, onion and peppers
chili powder to taste
black pepper to taste
dried chili pepper flakes to taste
Mrs Dash seasoning to taste
1 Tbs Orrington Farms no MSG broth powder
add water to desired thickness and cook for 1 hour.
