The guitar on the 4th track of Pink Moon is tuned to BF#BEBD#. This tuning is basis of 7 tracks on the album, thus I leave the guitar tuned down like this and need only the capo and minor tuning adjustments to one or two strings for the other 6 songs.
Nick Drake uses many different open tunings. For Pink Moon the guitar is tuned to DADGDE. To play most of the songs on the Pink Moon album with few tuning adjustments, the guitar is tuned to drop B, thus I have the capo on the 3rd fret.
For this track I simply leave the guitar set up the same way from the previous track, Things Behind The Sun. Though not necessary, leaving the capo wear it is makes for an easy transition and keeps the action on the guitar lower, taking some pressure off the drone bass note of the pointer finger.
This third track from Pink Moon is one of three songs on the album based on a standard tuning. The open G string is tuned down to an E. The capo is placed on the 3rd fret with the open strings tuned at GCFGDG.
The second track on Pink Moon, similar to the first, is tuned from a drop B with the capo on the 5th fret with the open strings being tuned to EBEAEG#.
