Government acquired 2800 acres of land in 2013 as part of its 10- year resettlement program for the land slide victims in the Elgon Mountain.
Government was driven by the commitment to end loss of lives in Mt Elgon landslides.
UPDF engineering brigade embarked on the construction works at the Nambutye resettlement camp with 75 housing units in the first phase.
Over 350 housing units have been completed and occupied by families affected by the slide victims.
