Boltgun is the new entry in the WH40K universe, a boomer shooter developed by Auroch Digital and published by Focus Entertainment. You play a space marine on a mission across the galaxy, as you battle against the Chaos Space Marines and daemons of Chaos.
I know next to nothing about the Warhammer universe, but they take a lot of care of the fanchise, so I bet the setting and the lore is not the issue here. Pretty neat shooter, very chonky feeling, can be played slowly or you can rampage through the levels blowing stuff up, cutting them in half with your saw sword or even charge at them.

No commentary playthrough of Wolfenstein 3D using the ECWolf source port. I am a death incarnate skill level, getting all kills, secrets and treasure (where possible).
Had this a long time coming. I had a previous run of this using the Wolfenstein 3D TC for ZDoom, which was a great effort, but still not 100% Wolf3d. So this time around I'm using ECWolf, running at 1440p, since apparently my CPU isn't capable of doing true 4K (Hardware renderer nao pls!). I also tried to go fast, so it might feel like a speedrun sometimes. Enjoy!

Me ha llevado tiempo llegar aquí. Tenía un playthrough previo de esto usando la TC del Wolfenstein 3D para ZDoom, que estaba muy currada, pero aun así no era 100% Wolf3D. Así que esta vez uso ECWolf, corriendo a 1440p, ya que aparentemente mi CPU no es capaz de 4K reales (¡Renderizador por hardware ya, pofavó!). También he intentado ir rápido, así que en ocasiones se sentirá como una speedrun. ¡Disfrutad!

No commentary playthrough of the Build Engine game "Legend of the Seven Paladins", also known as "Rock 'n Shaolin", also known as "搖滾少林系列 七俠五義3D", and also known as "의적 임꺽정". Using BuildGDX, nightmare difficulty.
Meet the first "full" Build Engine game, dated September '94, a whole year before Tekwar and Witchaven where released. This is as close as we can get to archaeology within the Build Engine. m210 has added support for this game in BuildGDX, which was previously thought to have never been released, as "communication" problems with the Asian company got the deal to produce the game to go nowhere. But a demo was released and could be found online for many years, a broken game with sickening head bobbing. More recently, shots of the game's box were found, and the full game too... which was also broken, some levels didn't even have exits apparently.
Do not every try to play this on Nightmare skill level, there's barely enough ammo to get through all the enemies, and the fact that they are *invulnerable* during their attack frames leads to wasting ammo. Keep in mind that at some levels, I had to reload an older save and speedrun through a couple levels to conserve ammo and be able to deal with the upcoming levels. There are also a couple of leveles where it was impossible to open the exit doors, even though I stepped on every sector on the level. (Yes, sometimes you just have to step on a random sector for a door to open up). And there's a lever whose only exit skips two levels ahead. Imho, this game is clearly an Alpha version, and the jerks who created it shoved it into the market anyway when they saw that the deal with 3DR wasn't pulling ahead.
I now, this game is shit and maybe it should debut in shitty game sundays, but this is a completely different kind of beast... the world needs to see this.

Timeshift is a shooter that released in 2007 after some developing hell situation by Saber Interactive. This game was meant for the og Xbox, but its great visuals craved for more power, so it was moved to the coming gen. After changing publisher, rebuilding half of the game, re-recording all of the speech 3 times, and 4 years... It got released.
The game is about some asshole that develops a time manipulating suit and goes to the past to rule the world under a totalitarian iron hand. A kind of steampunk-ish dystopia that you must unravel with one of those suits. Timeshift is a decent looking shooter, that doesn't really excel at anything, but is a pleasant ride that does everything fine. You can tell that despite the game took 4 years to develop, it still needed a bit more time in the oven. There is a very abrupt story jump between some of the levels.

La intención era lanzar este juego para la Xbox original, pero sus buenos gráficos pedían más potencia, así que fue rediseñado para la siguiente generación. Después de cambiar de publicador, reconstruir la mitad del juego, regrabar los diálogos hasta 3 veces, y 4 años... fue lanzado.
El juego va de un capullo que desarrolla un traje para manipular el tiempo y viaja al pasado para liderar el mundo bajo puño de hierro. Una distopía con un aire pseudo-steampunk que deberás arreglar con uno de esos trajes. Timeshift es un shooter que luce bien, pero que no alcanza la excelencia en nada, pese a ello es una experiencia agradable que hace todo bien. Se puede apreciar que, a pesar de que llevó 4 años desarrollarlo, necesitaba un poco más de tiempo en el horno. Hay saltos bruscos en la historia entre algunos mapas.

No commentary playthrough of the Wolfenstein 3D: Spear of Destiny official mission pack Return To Danger. Played on I'm A Death Incarnate skill level, using the ECWolf source port, showing all kills* secrets & items (*Don't trust the endgame counter, I don't remember what I did to screw it, I only missed a single enemy in the whole game).
Return to Danger is one of the officially released mission packs for Spear of Destiny by FormGen in 1994. 21 new levels with a complete reskin and "resound" of the whole game. While some of the textures look fine and are shaded fine, the whole thing is way more colorful than og Wolfenstein 3D and makes it look a lot more cartoony if that was possible. It's just more Wolf3D, but weaker at that. It's like a fan made addon, but commercial.

Return to Danger es uno de los packs de misiones oficiales lanzados para Spear of Destiny por Formgen en 1994. 21 nuevos niveles con un reskin completo y de sonidos también. Aunque algunas de las textures lucen bien y tienen buen sombreado, el conjunto es mucho más colorido que el Wolfenstein original y lo hace lucir más caricaturesco si eso fuera posible. Es más Wolfenstein 3D, pero más flojo. Es como un addon hecho por fans, pero comercial.

No commentary playthrough of Quake 2, using the YamagiQ2 source port for enhanced compatibility with modern systems. Hard skill level, showing all secrets, presented in 4K.
Originally meant to be a new IP called 'Wor', in the end Id Software opted for labelling it as Quake2, making for an odd sequel which is a complete departure for the dark, gloomy Lovecraft-esque motif of the first game. Now you are a space marine, on an assault against the Strogg, a biomechanical alien race conquering the galaxy in search for new lifeforms to assimilate. The game pushed harder the GPU market, adding colored lightning, transparencies and particle effects among other features. In the gameplay department we got hub based missions with objectives to be completed, an item inventory... and the railgun!

Originalmente intencionado para ser una nueva PI llamada 'Wor', al final Id Software decidio etiquetarlo como Quake 2, quedando una secuela rara que abandonaba los temas oscuros y lovecraftianos del primer juego. Ahora eres un marine espacial, en un asalto contra los Strogg, una raza de alienígenas biomecánicos que conquistan la galaxia en busca de nuevas formas de vida para asimilar. El juego empujó más el mercado de las GPUs, añadiendo iluminación de colores, transparencias y efectos de partículas entre otras cosas. En el departamento de jugabilidad nos otorgó misiones agrupadas en bloques con objetivos a ser cumplidos y... la railgun!

A mech game within Doom? Why not?! We've seen rarer things running under GZDoom. This time around is a full remake/reimagining of the 1995 DOS game Iron Assault. A mech game that unlike his siblings, was more aimed at action and less towards simulation. Reformed Joe (who has worked on Ashes Afterglow) took a lot of freedom in this adaptation, but for the better. Give it a try!

Un juegos de mechas en Doom? Por qué no?! Ya hemos visto cosas más raras bajo GZDoom. Esta vez es un remake/reimaginación del juego para DOS de 1995 Iron Assault. Un juego de mechas que a diferencia de sus semejantes, se centraba más en la acción y menos en la simulación. Reformed Joe (que trabajo en Ashes Afterglow) se ha tomado mucha libertad en esta adaptación, pero para mejor. ¡Dadle un tiento!

No commentary playthrough of Gloom 3: Ultimate Gloom. Played through the ZGloom port. My idea was to let the source port get more polish before recording this, but since it hasn't been update for longer than a year, I decided to give it a go, it's not perfect, but it's serviceable.
Gloom is a series of FPS game for the Amiga computers, which were underpowered do deliver a decent Doom clone. The first Gloom saw some success, but in the end Gloom 2 was cancelled. However, that didn't stop people from replacing all the graphics in Gloom Deluxe, throwing a bunch of new levels, and call it Gloom 3.
You know, the first Gloom wasn't great, but for the hardware it targetted, it was ok. But this... This! Is atrocious in every single way, cheap textures and monsters created in Deluxe Paint, while others are just recolors or right straight stolen from somewhere else, and the levels... Jesus Christ the levels, those are 12-year-old me quality standards, and this is being generous. I counted a little over a dozen medkits over the whole playthrough, and this has 50 levels, and was played with shitty controls back in the day... I bet is was hard AF.

Playthrough sin comentar de Gloom 3: Ultimate Gloom. Jugado con el source port ZGloom. Mi idea era esperar a que el port madurase más antes de grabar esto, pero ya que no ha sido actualizado durante más de un año, he decido darle luz verde, no es perfecto, pero hace el apaño.
Gloom es una saga de FPSs para ordenadores Amiga, que carecían de la potencia necesaria para ofrecer un clon de Doom decente. El primer Gloom tuvo algo de éxito, pero al final Gloom 2 fue cancelado. A pesar de ello, eso no impidio a la gente cambiar todos los gráficos de Gloom Deluxe, arrojar un puñado de nuevos niveles, y llamarlo Gloom 3.
Vereis... el primer Gloom no es que fuese genial, pero viendo el hardware objetivo era correcto. Pero esto... ESTO! Es atroz en todos los aspectos posibles, texturas y enemigos cutres dibujados con Deluxe Paint, otras son recolorados o incluso robados de otras fuentes, y los niveles... Dios santo los niveles, su estándar de calidad es equivalente a lo que hacía yo con 12 años, y siendo generoso. Conté poco más de una docena de botiquines durante todo el playthrough, y esto tiene 50 niveles, y se jugaba con controles de mierda en su día... Apuesto a que debía ser difícil de coj****.

No commentary playthrough of the first Early Access release of Viscerafest. Played on "Brutal" difficulty level, showing all secrets and obtaining every skullie.
The guys at 1C Entertainment were kind enough to invite me to the press pass to get an early stab of this little gem. Viscerafest is fast, brutal, and extremely unforgiving FPS with nice level design, lots of secrets, powerful arsenal, and a freaking oustanding OST that will keep you jamming even if you keep dying over and over again. Keep an eye on this one!

Los chicos de 1C Entertainment han sido muy amables invitándome al pase de prensa para poder darle un tiento anticipado a esta joyita. Viscerafest es un FPS rápido, brutal e implacable con buen diseño de niveles, muchos secretos, arsenal poderoso, y una banda sonora increíble que te tendrá gozándolo incluso si te estás muriendo todo el rato. ¡No le quiteis el ojo de encima a este!

Playthrough of Star Wars: Republic Commando PC version, with widescreen mod and 4K resolution. SW:RC is a shooter released in 2005 for PC and Xbox using Unreal Engine 2.0. It featured gameplay with 3 AI companions simulating squad gameplay where you could assign orders to your mates in a comfortable fashion. It had favorable reviews and was generally praised, but I guess it didn't age well, as I didn't like it "that" much... but was completely fine, don't get me wrong.

Playthrough de la versión de PC de Star Wars: Republic Commando, con mod widescreen y resolución 4K. SW:RC es un shooter lanzado en 2005 para PC y Xbox usando el Unreal Engine 2.0. Incluía gameplay con 3 compañeros IA simulando un escuadrón donde podías asignarle órdenes a tus compañeros de forma cómoda. Tuvo buenas críticas y recepción por parte del público, pero imagino que no envejecio bien, ya que tambpoco me parecio "tan" bueno... pero estuvo bien, no me entendais mal.
