No commentary playthrough of Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold. Played on maximum difficulty, getting all kills and secrets, and keeping all informants alive where possible. Using Bibendovsy's "BStone" source port.
This is an update/improvement over my previous playthrough, featuring:
- Widescreen instead of 4:3
- OpenGL rendering instead of software. If you don't like hardware rendering, please resort to my previous playthrough
- All kills, secrets, treasure in every floor
- All informants alive, where possible. This part was pain in some floors.
This game was delevoped by Jam Productions and published by Apogee in 1993. You are secret agent Blake Stone, set on a mission to stop the evil Dr. Goldfinger, who has plans to create an army of mutants and cyborgs. This effort uses Wolfenstein 3D's engine and adds every single feature they could afford given the computers of the day, such as: Switches activating door and barriers (even between different levels), friendly characters, floor & ceiling texures, depth cueing, automap, dozens of enemies, and traversing to previous floors. Sad part is that this game came out one week before Doom, so it was certainly "Doomed" to oblivion... Otherwise it would have been a true classic.
Blake Stone is a pleasant trip, with colorful and varied enemies... and a tough as nails. You collect keycard and push switches until you get a red keycard which allows you to unlock the next floor. Until you reach floor 9 of each episode and fight one of Goldfinger's abominations. As well as with Wolfenstein 3D, this game has a TON of levels, so take your time, it can get tiring.

Esto es una mejora sobre my playthrough anterior, características:
- Formato panorámico en vez de 4:3
- Renderizado por OpenGL en lugar de Software. Si no te gusta el renderizado por hardware, siempre tienes el playthrough anterior
- Todas las bajas, secretos, y tesoro
- Todos los informantes vivos, cuando fuera posible. Esto fue doloroso en algunos pisos.
Este juego fue desarrollado por Jam Productions y publicado por Apogee en 1993. Eres Blake Stone, agente secreto destinado a detener al malvado Dr. Goldfinger, que tiene planes para crear un ejército de mutantes y cyborgs. Esta obra usa el motor de Wolfenstein 3D y añade todas las caracterís que los PCs de la época podían soportar, tales como: Interruptores para activar puertas y barreras (incluso en otros niveles), personajes amistosos, texturas de suelo y techo, profundidad, mapa, docenas de enemigos, y posibilidad de volver a pisos anteriores. La parte triste es que este juego fue lanzado una semana antes que Doom, con lo que quedó condenado al olvido... Sino seguramente sería un clásico hoy día.
Blake Stone es un viaje agradable, con enemigos variados y coloristas... y es bastante jodido. Obtienes llaves y accionas interruptores para conseguir la llave roja que permita acceder al siguiente nivel, hasta que llegas al 9º piso te enfrentas a una de las abominaciones del Dr. Goldfiger. Al igual que Wolf3D, este juego tiene UN MONTON de niveles, así que lo mejor es ir a los pocos para evitar cansarse.

No Commentary playthrough of the GZDoom engined game Hedon. 4º skill level, showing every secret.
Hedon began as a GZDoom Hexen-like action/adventure TC, but without the switch hunting. You play as Zan, a half orc/demon living in a dwarven underworld, she wakes up in a cave, after a cultist invasion which has killed nearly everyone. Good stuff, with a very distinctive art style and steampunk atmosphere, good ost (though some tunes feel a bit out of place imho), and great replayability with a melee focused game mode.
If you aren't so sure about buying "a commercial doom mod", you can always download the latest mod version avaiable. further updates are retail only.

Hedon empezó siendo una TC de acción y aventura para GZDoom a lo Hexen, pero sin la caza de palancas. Juegas como Zan, una mitad demonio mitad orco que vive en un mundo subterraneo que despierta en una cueba, después de una invasión de unos cultistas que han matado prácticamente a todo el mundo. Buen material, con un estilo artístico muy distintivo y atmósfera steampunk, buena banda sonora (aunque algunos temas pueden parecer un poco fuera de sitio) y rejugabilidad completa gracias un modo alternativo enfocado en combate cuerpo a cuerpo.
Si no estás convencido a comprar "un mod para Doom comercial", siempre puedes descargar la última versión mod disponible. Las actualizaciones posteriores son solo para la versión retail.

(English below)Playthrough sin comentar de la versión de PC del Wolfenstein de 2009. En 4K, dificultad difícil.
Este es el Wolfenstein que todo el mundo ha olvidado, e injustamente la verdad. Es un juego decente, el problema es que "decente" en 2009 no era la nota de corte ni mucho menos. Cuando otros lanzamientos recientes eran Modern Warfare 2, Crysis, Bioshock, Killzone 2, Borderlands, BF: Bad Company... Pues ser "decente" no es suficiente. Raven Software, haciendo buen uso del motor de IdTech4 (Doom3), llevan a Blazkowicz a la villa de Isenstadt, donde los Nazis ejercen la ley marcial para investigar y explotar los poderes ocultistas que allí se concentran.
Isenstadt se establece como el hub principal a través del cual accedemos a las distintas misiones que se encuentran fuera de la villa, y donde también vamos desbloqueando distritos de la misma a medida que avanzamos. Es algo así como una estructura de mundo abierto, pero realmente es un juego lineal en el que visitamos algunas localizaciones varias veces. También podemos ir adquiriendo mejoras para nuestras armas y medallón con los tesoros que vayamos encontrando. Como ya he dicho, es un juego decente, ni muy bueno ni malo, en la línea de Raven Software, las armas son satisfactorias de usar y machacar a los nazis siempre es divertido. El juego es un poco fácil, sobretodo gracias a los poderes sobrenaturales del medallón que poseemos. Si te han gustado el Quake4 o el Singularity, pues aquí vas a encontrar material igualmente agradable.

No Commentary playthrough of the PC version of Wolfenstein 2009. 4K, hard difficulty.
This is the Wolfenstein game people has forgotten, and it's a bit unfair tbh. It's a decent game, problem is "decent" didn't cut it in 2009. When other recent notorious releases are Modern Warfare 2, Crysis, Bioshock, Killzone 2, Borderlands, BF: Bad Company... Then "decent" it's just not enough. Raven Software made good use of the IdTech4 engine (Doom3), bringin Blazkovicz to the town of Isenstadt, where the nazis instaurated martial law in order to investigate and exploit the occult powers found in there.
Isenstadt is the main hub from where you access the different missions outside the village, and where we keep unlocking new districts to visit as we progress. More like an open world game, but it's really a linear experience where you revisit a bunch of areas a few times. We can also adquire upgrades for our weapons and medallion powers with the hidden treasures scattered around. As I said, it's a decent game, not excellent, but not bad either, just like every Raven Software late releases, weapons have good feedback and crushing nazis is always fun. More WoW x Doom coming our way. The new pack contains adaptations of both Violet Hold and Zul'Farrak. It uses a bunch of enemies form other games and from Realm666's bestiary.
While the gameplay isn't the best, Zul'Farrak plays a lot better than any other WoW x Doom maps so far.

Aunque el gameplay no es el mejor, Zul'Farrak se juega bastante mejor que cualquier otra adaptación de WoW en Doom hasta la fecha.

No commentary playthrough of Hexen: Beyond Heretic. Played on max difficulty, using GZDoom.
This playthrough is and update over my previousone and is meant to be the ultimate one. Improvements:
- 4K, for better bitrate and overall video quality
- Shows all secret levels
- Played with every player class
- Highest difficulty level
Hexen is 1995's Raven Software spinoff for Heretic, set in the same world, where you go on the hunt for another of the Serpent Riders. This time around the game world is set in level hubs, where you do different tasks in each one of the levels to unlock new sections in the other levels and eventually solve one big hub puzzle. You now can also choose between 3 different player characters with different weapons, run speed, and use of certain inventory items.
It's Hexen! You either love it or hate it. For me, I do love how the game looks, the weapons, the enemies, the weapon sound effects, the desings, the atmosphere... Literally everything but the game itself. The overdone puzzles can do for a very frustrating first playthrough with lots of wtf moments wondering what does mean that the switch you just activated did just do. The enemies are just time fillers between the switches and there's no point in killing them (if they dropped gold or xp at least...). There are death pits and insta death traps. The player classes are cool, but in the end you are stuck with just 4 weapons during your playthrough. It's a good game... if you happen to like enough aspects of it and tolerate its shortcomings.

Este playthrough es una mejora sobre el anterior que había subido y debería ser el definitivo. Mejoras:
- En 4K para mejor bitrate y calidad de vídeo
- Enseña todos los niveles secretos
- Máximo nivel de dificultad
- Jugado con las 3 clases
Hexen es el spinoff de Heretic que Raven Software lanzó en 1995. Situado en el mismo mundo, ahora vas a la caza de otro de los Serpent Riders. El juego está dividido en bloques de niveles, en los que haces distintas tareas que desbloquean nuevas áreas en los demás niveles, con el objetivo de completar un gran puzzle en el nexo principal. También permite elegir entre varias clases de personaje, con distantas armas, velocidad y uso de ciertos objetos del inventario.
¿Qué voy a decir que no se haya dicho ya? ¡Es Hexen! Lo odias, o lo amas. En mi caso me encanta cómo luce, las armas, los diseños, los enemigos, la atmósfera, los efectos de sonido... Básicamente todo menos el juego en sí. Los puzzles enrevesados dan para un primer playthrough bastante frustrante con muchos momentos donde te preguntas qué carajo ha hecho el botón que acabas de activar. Los enemigos solamente son relleno para desperdiciar tu tiempo entre botón y botón (si al menos diesen oro o experiencia...). Hay pozos sin fondo y trampas que te matan instantáneamente. Lo de las clases está bien, pero luego te encuentras con tan sólo 4 armas distintas durante el playthrough. Es un buen juego, si te gustan suficientes cosas de él y estás dispuesto a tolerar sus defectos.

No commentary playthrough of the Build Engine game "Legend of the Seven Paladins", also known as "Rock 'n Shaolin", also known as "搖滾少林系列 七俠五義3D", and also known as "의적 임꺽정". Using BuildGDX, nightmare difficulty.
Meet the first "full" Build Engine game, dated September '94, a whole year before Tekwar and Witchaven where released. This is as close as we can get to archaeology within the Build Engine. m210 has added support for this game in BuildGDX, which was previously thought to have never been released, as "communication" problems with the Asian company got the deal to produce the game to go nowhere. But a demo was released and could be found online for many years, a broken game with sickening head bobbing. More recently, shots of the game's box were found, and the full game too... which was also broken, some levels didn't even have exits apparently.
Do not every try to play this on Nightmare skill level, there's barely enough ammo to get through all the enemies, and the fact that they are *invulnerable* during their attack frames leads to wasting ammo. Keep in mind that at some levels, I had to reload an older save and speedrun through a couple levels to conserve ammo and be able to deal with the upcoming levels. There are also a couple of leveles where it was impossible to open the exit doors, even though I stepped on every sector on the level. (Yes, sometimes you just have to step on a random sector for a door to open up). And there's a lever whose only exit skips two levels ahead. Imho, this game is clearly an Alpha version, and the jerks who created it shoved it into the market anyway when they saw that the deal with 3DR wasn't pulling ahead.
I now, this game is shit and maybe it should debut in shitty game sundays, but this is a completely different kind of beast... the world needs to see this.

Prodeus is a fast paced, sci-fi first person shooter which can be defined as "Doom 2016 but in low res" or "Brutal Doom done right". It was born as a kickstarter project developed by Bounding Box Software to a good end. Action is brutal and you'll be painting the scenarios red in no time. It features a single player campaign with great levels, several multiplayer modes, hundreds of downloadable user maps in-game, lots of different weapons which kick like a mule, level editor, and awesome music by none other than Andrew Hultshult.

Prodeus es un shooter en primera persona de ciencia ficción de acción rápida, que es algo así como "Doom 2016 pero en baja resolución" o "Brutal Doom 'bien'". Nacio en kickstarter y ha sido desarrollado por Bounding Box Software con buen final. La acción es brutal y estarás pintando los escenarios de rojo en nada. Ofrece una campaña de un solo jugador con excelentes niveles, varios modos multijugador, cientos de mapas de la comunidad descargables desde el juego, muchas armas distintas que pegan como una coz, editor de niveles, e increíble bso del único Andrew Hultshult.

No commentary playthrough of the PC version of Timeshift.
Timeshift is a shooter that released in 2007 after some developing hell situation by Saber Interactive. This game was meant for the og Xbox, but its great visuals craved for more power, so it was moved to the coming gen. After changing publisher, rebuilding half of the game, re-recording all of the speech 3 times, and 4 years... It got released.
The game is about some asshole that develops a time manipulating suit and goes to the past to rule the world under a totalitarian iron hand. A kind of steampunk-ish dystopia that you must unravel with one of those suits. Timeshift is a decent looking shooter, that doesn't really excel at anything, but is a pleasant ride that does everything fine. You can tell that despite the game took 4 years to develop, it still needed a bit more time in the oven. There is a very abrupt story jump between some of the levels.

Timeshift es un shooter lanzado en 2007 por Saber Interactive después de pasar por un desarrollo infernal. La intención era lanzar este juego para la Xbox original, pero sus buenos gráficos pedían más potencia, así que fue rediseñado para la siguiente generación. Después de cambiar de publicador, reconstruir la mitad del juego, regrabar los diálogos hasta 3 veces, y 4 años... fue lanzado.
El juego va de un capullo que desarrolla un traje para manipular el tiempo y viaja al pasado para liderar el mundo bajo puño de hierro. Una distopía con un aire pseudo-steampunk que deberás arreglar con uno de esos trajes. Timeshift es un shooter que luce bien, pero que no alcanza la excelencia en nada, pese a ello es una experiencia agradable que hace todo bien. Se puede apreciar que, a pesar de que llevó 4 años desarrollarlo, necesitaba un poco más de tiempo en el horno. Hay saltos bruscos en la historia entre algunos mapas.
