Canton Police cars have front and back interior cameras
Lois Howard was arrested by Canton Police in Cherokee county Georgia at 1 am sitting on a bench in a Publix shopping center in front of a Hallmark store. Howard was arrested on a criminal trespass from the Publix even though she was not on Publix property. It was stated by Officer Leonard that it was believed she was stealing, while the stores were closed at 1 am Friday night. Howard is an elderly female, she stated to EMS she was shoved into the back of the police car and suffered several broken ribs. Howard was then taken to the Cherokee County Detention Center and dropped off in the parking lot of the jail. The jail staff refused to accept her due to her injuries and there was a lot of chaos and lies past that point. In a recorded interview on May 24, 2021, Sergeant Gregory Ayers was questioned about an incident involving Officers Leonard and Overbay arresting a female for trespassing at Publix. Ayers was informed that Leonard made statements about dropping off the arrestee at the front of the jail. Ayers denied talking to Leonard during the incident. However, call records showed two calls between them around the time of the incident. Ayers couldn't recall the details of the calls or the conversation. He also couldn't recall what he was doing that morning. Ayers stated that he didn't recall discussing with Leonard the inappropriate action of dropping off individuals at the jail's front. He mentioned conversations with Lt. Campbell and Captain Tucker regarding the incident. Ayers had not spoken directly to Leonard about the incident, and he was instructed not to discuss the investigation with anyone.

We had to tase him due to him "Trying" to fight
61-year-old Freddie Walker, who suffered from schizophrenia, died in late July after being tased multiple times by Burke County deputies during a schizophrenic episode.
His funeral was on Wednesday morning, and his family wants justice.
They’ve hired a lawyer, and tell us they are working on filing a lawsuit against the Burke County Sheriff’s Office for how deputies handled the incident.
Officer was asked to stay back until Walker was stabilized. Paramedics wanted to try to calm him down before law enforcement gets involved.
Officers became aggressive and tased Waker 4 times.
“There was different avenues they could have taken to handle that situation, like I said before with MACE, and there was enough people around where they could’ve restrained Freddie,” said Arthur Palmer, Walker’s nephew.
In a video statement released after the incident, Sheriff Alfonzo Williams said he believes the deputies didn’t violate any laws.
“We do realize that people across the country have died after being tased, and usually there is some underlying medical condition,” Sheriff Williams said. “Mr. Walker’s body will go to the crime lab for an autopsy and we’ll await those results.”
The Sheriff’s Office sent us the following statement on Wednesday:
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Freddie Walker. It was an unfortunate incident and we understand the frustration and hurt Walker’s family is experiencing. Our deputies undergo Taser Certification Training as well as the yearly recertification which is required by the manufacturer and by the department. As most know, sometimes there are not enough resources available in certain areas for people who might experience a mental crisis. We remain hopeful that the state of Georgia will take a more active role in regulating systems to protect mental health patients and provide the necessary funding to support mental health efforts. Again, our agency along with Sheriff Alfonzo Williams sends our deepest sympathy to all involved. We will have no further comment due to the fact this is a legal matter. ”

Loving was involved in executing arrest warrants and investigating a use of force incident concerning Tina Childress while she was in custody at the Eatonton Police Department. William Kent Lawrence, who had been with the Eatonton Police Department since 1980 and became its Chief of Police in 1986, was arrested in connection with the incident. Lawrence's personnel file was reviewed, revealing two minor vehicle accidents but no complaints or reprimands. Special Agent in Charge Mary Chandler interviewed Lawrence regarding allegations that he used excessive force on Childress. During the conversation, Lawrence admitted to slapping Childress multiple times to wake her up while she was intoxicated.
