Industrial Society and Its Future, by Dr. Kaczynski, PhD. 1995.
Audiobook Excerpt with Text & Footnotes.
_____________________________________________________________

Written in 1995, 'Industrial Society and Its Future' is an essay which holds incredible significance and insight into understanding the nature, legacy, and failings of the industrial-technological system of the current year. Among these failings, those affecting the individual and communities comprised thereof, are of paramount concern.

Since its authorship, the concepts of industrial dominance, automation, and their connection to ever-increasing societal distresses addressed in it have grown EXPONENTIALLY, both in severity and occurrence, have spread in demography and geography, and have expanded their reach far beyond the industrial world initially addressed and specified.

In its time, the circumstances, scope, intent, and the very publication of the essay (aka its Context) had all overshadowed the text itself, making it the subject of much controversy, recoil, and revilement. Subsequently, and unfortunately, many of the bold and undeniable concepts and analyses introduced or raised within the essay itself (aka its Content) have long been unjustly disregarded, dismissed, or outright ignored, being cast under shadow of the former.

While the views, analytical perspectives and reasonings, conclusions and proposed courses of action within this essay do not Necessarily constitute or wholly represent the beliefs and positions of Unism per se, we whole-heartedly assert that Understanding the essay's insights into our modern world constitutes a crucial step towards establishing (or regaining) one's sense of self, and, thereby, towards developing an actionable plan for transforming civilization, and righting its inevitable apocalyptic trajectory.

UCLA professor James Q. Wilson, in The New Yorker: "If it is the work of a madman, then the writings of many political philosophers — Jean Jacques Rousseau, Tom Paine, Karl Marx — are scarcely more sane."
