Pathways Pivots Episode 1 - Osvaldo Zamora - From Cuba to UX Design
This is the first in a new series of shorter conversations we have with folks who have recently made a career change or pivot. We explore why that happened and what their takeaways are.
Osvaldo is an interesting fellow with a compelling story. Growing up and going to University in Cuba he came to the United States about 6 years ago, first working in e-Commerce before transitioning to User Experience Design.
We discuss how life in Cuba influenced his decisions and goals, what his impressions of the U.S. are (he became a citizen somewhat recently), what sacrifices he's made, and advice he has for someone wondering whether to take the leap personally and professionally.
