He carried out Quest 732: "I Want to See Horses" for Yuraiza's Barber Doll. Then, he wrapped up the Yuraiza's Memories task and earned the "Memory Traveller" accolade. Now, he will carry out a couple of quests in Folion. Davilas resumes in his house in the Azlan Housing Area on Eltona, the Elf continent. He is currently a Level 128 Minstrel. Davilas Zooms to the Folion Outskirts - Divine Capital Gate destination with the Soul Candlestick. Folion Outskirts (time 2:31): Davilas arrives near the main gate into Folion. Near the portal leading to the Forest of Fertility, Davilas talks to Nerimel at G-6. Nerimel issues Quest 689: "The Secret of that Taste". The prerequisite is to have completed the Green Trial during the Version 6.0 story. The first objective is to talk to Fedira at the Garden of Birth. Davilas Zooms to the Garden of Birth destination in the Forest of Fertility, Green Training Ground region. Forest of Fertility (time 5:53): At D-5, Davilas enters the Garden of Birth. Garden of Birth (time 6:26): At E-4, Davilas talks to Fedira. His next objective is to gather Heavenly Honey (天上のはちみつ) from a beehive in the south of the Forest of Fertility. Davilas Zooms to the Lifeline Temple destination in the Forest of Fertility with the Soul Candlestick. Forest of Fertility (time 7:57): From the Lifeline Temple in the southeast, Davilas flies to a tree at D-7 in the south. He examines the beehive and obtains the Heavenly Honey (天上のはちみつ) key item. The next objective is to deliver it to Fedira. Davilas Zooms back to the Garden of Birth destination with the Soul Candlestick. He enters the Garden of Birth at D-5. Garden of Birth (time 10:17): Davilas talks to Fedira at E-4 and hands over the Heavenly Honey. Next, he must defeat Gigant Monkeys (ギガントモンキー) in the north of the Forest of Fertility to acquire Heavenly Bananas (天上のバナナ). Davilas Zooms to the Forest of Fertility - North destination with the Soul Candlestick. Forest of Fertility (time 12:03): Davilas arrives in the north of the forest. He hunts a Gigant Monkey (ギガントモンキー) around D-2. After a battle, he acquires the Bundle of Heavenly Bananas (天上のバナナ) key item. He must deliver these to Fedira at the Garden of Birth. Davilas Zooms back to the Garden of Birth destination with the Soul Candlestick. He enters the Garden of Birth at D-5. Garden of Birth (time 15:14): Davilas talks to Fedira at E-4 and hands over the Heavenly Bananas. After some preparation, she gives him the Special Honey Banana Bake (特製ハニーバナナ焼き) key item. She also gives Davilas the option to have a taste. This gives him a hot spring effect if he agrees. Davilas must now pick up a bottle of Fresh Milk (おいしいミルク) and bring the key item to Nerimel in the Folion Outskirts. Davilas talks to Rionne at F-4 and buys a bottle of Fresh Milk (おいしいミルク) for 240 gold. Afterwards, he Zooms to the Ancient Ruins destination in the Folion Outskirts with the Soul Candlestick. Folion Outskirts (time 18:54): Davilas arrives outside the Ancient Ruins on the east side of Folion. He talks to Nerimel at G-6. First he hands over the Special Honey Banana Bake. After she has worked on it for a bit, he hands over a bottle of Fresh Milk. Quest 689 complete! Davilas earns 2 Fragrant Celestial Branches (天の香木). The player earns the accolade "Collection King" for collecting over 1,000 items. Davilas Zooms to the Divine Capital Folion - Entrance destination with the Soul Candlestick. Divine Capital Folion (time 23:52): On floor 1F of the city, Davilas talks to Dizzy at E-5. Dizzy issues Quest 690: "God's Announcement". The prerequisite is to have cleared the Blue Trial during the Version 6.0 story. The first objective is to visit the "Holy King" in the Shrine of Judgement in the Blue Training Ground region. Not quite knowing where to go at first, Davilas Zooms to the Azure Pillar in the Blue Training Ground region with the Soul Candlestick. Azure Pillar (time 27:05): Davilas takes the door at D-5/E-5 into the Dawn of the Hero. Dawn of the Hero (time 27:27): Of course, this is not the correct place. Then, we fast-forwarded to their teenage years. With Cid's help, they visited Rydia in Mist, and Palom asked to go to the Feymarch. Along the way, they stopped to visit the Dwarven Castle, where Luca showed her interest in the Falcon. Now, the twins and Rydia will explore the Passage of the Eidolons. Underworld: The twins and Rydia resume outside the Passage of the Eidolons on the southwest island in the Underworld. First, they check out the Falcon. Falcon (time 0:27): On the Falcon, the party can chat with Cid and Luca. They can also use the healing pot if needed. When they are done, they disembark. Underworld (time 1:04): The party enters the Passage of the Eidolons. Passage of the Eidolons (time 1:07): The party starts on floor B1. Fortunately, as in Rydia's Tale, there is no need to worry about damage floors in the Passage of the Eidolons. The bad thing is that the party has no melee specialists. Fortunately, between Palom and Rydia, they have enough MP to burn down anything in their path. Porom's new Pray command will restore the party's HP, but not MP. Palom's Bluff command boosts his magic attack for his next turn, and it can also lower enemies' defense. In the northeast, a chest contains a quiver of Fire Arrows. Porom equips these. Palom equips the Lightning Arrows that she had equipped. A hidden passage leads west to an isolated northern chamber. The chest here contains an Ether. In the southeast, a chest contains a Hi-Potion. Rydia reaches Level 16. Palom and Porom reach Level 19. Palom learns the Black Magic spell Warp. Porom learns the White Magic spell Teleport. They now have an easy way out of the dungeon! In the west, the party goes downstairs to floor B2. In the southeast, they find a chest with a Hi-Potion. Rydia reaches Level 17. In the north, a chest contains a Cottage. Perfect timing. Palom and Porom reach Level 20. Porom learns the White Magic spell Esuna. Palom has reached his level cap for this chapter. In the east, there is a save point that was not in the original Final Fantasy IV. They rest with a Cottage and save. Just west of the save point, the party goes downstairs to floor B3. Rydia reaches Level 18. In the south of B3, a chest in the west-of-center room contains some Echo Herbs. To start, he visited Mitlar and Yuraiza at the Folion Heavenly Temple. Then, at Hervel and Yuraiza's house, he did Quest 708 for Yuraiza's Barber Doll, which can change her hairdo. Davilas started the Dowachakka branch of the story and visited the royal Dwarves in Dorwaam Crystal Castle. Afterwards, he entered Calsadora Volcano from the Raniakka Fault Zone and found the entrance to the Wrath of the Three Warriors - Desert of Ruin. However, the way forward was blocked. So, Davilas went to the depths of the Akuronia Mountain Mines and acquired Ipchal's Ore. Now, Davilas will go to the Urubea Underground Empire in the past and visit Princess Ulta to continue the story. Davilas resumes in his house in the Azlan housing area. Upon logging in, he reaches Sage Level 100 and earns 5 skill points. Outside, he checks his mail and receives gold for items that sold on the bazaar. Many thanks to the buyers! Davilas uses the Eteenel Cube to teleport to the Urubea Underground Empire. Urubea Underground Empire (time 2:11): Davilas visits the bank and withdraws some gold. At the pub, he hires a new support party, since his current support characters' contracts are expiring. At G-4, Unit 051 has story info. At B-4, Davilas enters the castle. Urubea Imperial Castle (time 9:03): Davilas starts on floor 1F. Minister Kuyochi at C-5 has story info. Davilas takes the elevator at C-5 to the upper floor. He goes south to the throne room and talks to Princess Ulta at E-7 for some dialogue. He must now solve a little puzzle to get the next key item he needs. Princess Ulta has story information after the conversation. Next, Davilas goes to the monument stone at D-4 in the middle of the floor. He speaks the following in local chat: "むすすへえまめともりかひしうとんさられわ". This is the following phrase backwards: "我ら三闘士 光求め 前へ進む" ("We three warriors seek light and move forward"). This triggers an event. Davilas examines the monument stone at D-4 and answers "Yes". It powers up a puzzle in the room to the north. In the northern room at D-3, there is a series of four control circles on the circles. They control which torches light up. The power level starts at 5. The blue torches reduce the power level, while the red torches increase it. The objective is to make the power level 10 at the Three Warriors' Mural in the north. At the first circle, he chooses the second option for lower power. At the second circle, he chooses the first option for higher power. At the third circle, he chooses the second option for lower power. At the fourth circle at D-2, he chooses the first option for higher power. At the northern end, Davilas examines the Three Warriors' Mural at D-2. He answers "Yes". This triggers a scene. Nanna and Dortam tried to leave behind a recording with a certain gravitas, but that Cob couldn't resist interfering. Ulta gives Davilas the Primordial Flame (原初の炎) key item. He must now take this to the throne room in Dorwaam Crystal Castle in the present. Davilas uses the Eteenel Cube to return to present-day Astoltia. Daraz Quarry (time 25:59): Davilas Zooms to Dorwaam. Dorwaam Castle Town (time 26:23): Shishiris at F-4 has story info. Davilas enters the castle at D-5. Dorwaam Crystal Castle (time 27:42): On floor 1F, Jushel at E-4 has story info. Davilas rides the elevator at D-4 up to floor 4F. From there, he takes the stairway at E-3 up to the rooftop garden. Then, he takes the stairways at G-4 to the top level of the castle. Padin at F-5 has story info. Davilas takes the door at D-4/D-5 to the throne room. This triggers a scene with King Urard, Prince Ramiza, Dura, Chiri, and Yuraiza. Davilas gives Chiri the Primordial Flame. Byan Dao shows up. The next objective is to take the elevator on floor 4F to the basement forge. Davilas regains control at E-5 in the throne room after the scene. Outside the throne room, Padin at F-5 has additional story info. Davilas heads downstairs to the rooftop garden. Then, he takes the northwestern stairway down to floor 4F. This is video #006 in my playthrough of Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride. This will be a grinding video. This video contains commentary. First though, they need to hunt monsters outside town so they can upgrade their equipment and get Bianca a few levels. It's also a way to get a bit of party chat with Miss B. Finally, it will help add entries to the bestiary that Madason will get some time later. The Funky Ferret in this area is a permanently missable enemy. If the party does not encounter it by the end of the first part of the game, they never will. Fortunately, it is not all that hard to find. After checking around Roundbeck at night, the pair leave town past the sleeping guard (time 3:44). They start out hunting monsters close by town. After just a couple of battles, Bianca reaches Level 2 (time 4:58). After only a few more, Bianca reaches Level 3 and learns Frizz, a single-targeting fire spell (time 7:31). After a little bit, they return to Roundbeck to rest at the inn for free (time 8:09). In the morning, though, it seems Pankraz is not feeling well (time 8:43). He will be ill until Madason and Bianca take care of the ghosts. By talking to Bianca, Madason can rest until evening (time 10:37). She will wake him up at night again so they can go out hunting again. Bubble Slimes can poison party members, so be careful. After a little more hunting, Madason reaches Level 5, and Bianca reaches Level 4 (time 15:09). A few minutes later, Bianca reaches Level 5 and learns Dazzle (time 20:24). Dazzle can blind a group of enemies. The kids now wander farther afield to fill out the map a little (time 23:08). Along the way, they locate Uptaten Towers northwest of town (time 25:10). While checking out the little peninsula to the northwest, Madason reaches Level 6 and learns Squelch (time 27:40). Squelch cures an ally of poison, which is helpful. In the next battle, Bianca reaches Level 6 (time 28:34). At the Roundbeck weapon shop, they get Bianca a Thorn Whip (time 31:09). This is a definite upgrade for her. It can strike a group of enemies. Next, the kids head east a bit back to Whealbrook (time 34:13). They can't get past the sleeping guard, but at least there's a little party chat with Bianca here. Farther east, they find the Coburg Checkpoint (time 36:06). The guard here won't let them through. A little later, Bianca reaches Level 7 and learns Kasap (time 37:24). Kasap lowers the defense of a group of enemies. South of Whealbrook, they also check out Littlehaven (time 38:13). Take note that the enemies on the peninsula south of the Whealbrook checkpoint are a little tough for this point in the game. After a few minutes, Madason reaches Level 7 (time 42:16). Finally, back in Roundbeck, the party gets a Boomerang for Madason (time 43:34). Another good upgrade. The Boomerang can strike all enemies in the screen.
