Over 28 million treated mosquito nets are to be distributed in the 17 districts across the country with highest malaria prevalence.
The mosquito distribution campaign was launched during the commemoration of the world malaria day celebrations in Bugiri district, under the theme, “getting back on track”- through investing, innovating and implementation.
The minister of state for health, Anifah Kawoya, appealed to the general public to use the nets for their intended purpose.
The country is recovering from Malaria epidemics that have ravaged it for the last 24 months.
Currently, only 14 districts are still grappling with epidemics, down from 78 as of 2021.
