The house ethics committee has announced that they are officially investigating Madison Cawthorn for multiple different scandals. The one term Republican freshman Congressman who lost his primary battle last week is now facing an investigation that is going to cover at least three different areas that we know of. The first one is an improper relationship with a staffer. The staffer's name is Steven Smith and the committee is investigating whether or not Cawthorn provided this individual Mr. Smith with, uh, free housing and other perks for free for working on his staff, which of course is illegal. You can't do that with your staffers, right? That's how improper relationships kind of evolve and to super improper relationships. If you get what I mean, not that this would've happened with this young man in Madison Cawthorn, but there's a reason these rules are in place. Uh, the other two, a little more serious. One of them happens to be Madison Cawthorn, uh, repeatedly driving on a revoked license. So the committee's gonna look at that. Although I don't know that the committee's gonna have much jurisdiction in that matter. That is actually a matter for north Carolina's justice system to deal with. And if they've already decided not to do anything about it, uh, whereas in some states, by the way, that can get you up to three years in prison, uh, for doing it more than once, but Cawthorn North Carolina. I think that's a matter for them. I don't know that the committee should even go down that path, but then the third one is the big one. The third one is the potential insider trading scandal with the let's go brand crypto coin. Now, in case you're not familiar with that, here's what happened. Madison Cawthorn was an early investor in the let's go brand coin. He didn't disclose that information in December Madison, Cawthorn posted a picture of himself on his Instagram with the founder of the let's go branding crypto coin. He also in the caption said, tomorrow, we go to the moon. Okay. Innocuous enough. Right. Well, it was until tomorrow came because the day after Madison Callthorne posted that tomorrow we go to the moon, the actual NASCAR driver, Brandon, whatever the hell, his name is the one who spawned the let's go. Brandon phrase came out and endorsed the crypto coin. So tomorrow we go to the moon and then tomorrow comes and Brandon himself endorses it, which of course would send shares, sky rocking the value of it. Sky rocking, not shares. Um, and you're sitting there with the founder and you're posting this picture with a cryptic message that something's gonna happen tomorrow. That would seem to be insider trading, right? At least on the surface. It pretty obvious. Now maybe the founder didn't tell Madison coauthor who was invested in this, that, yeah, tomorrow this is gonna happen. Maybe he didn't. Maybe he did. We won't know of course, until there is an actual investigation into this. But the big question is why is the ethics committee even investigating this, right? Shouldn't this be done by the securities in exchange commission? Shouldn't they be investigating the insider trader trading? Shouldn't the North Carolina police be investigating the driving on a revoked license. If the committee wants to go after the improper relationship with the staffer have at it, that is absolutely your jurisdiction. Because as we all know what's happening is that you have multiple election deniers that have won their Republican primaries to be the secretary of state candidate, places like Nevada, Arizona, Michigan, to put that another way, swing states where the final vote could be a 10,000 vote difference, a 20,000 vote difference something that's pretty easy for a secretary of state to step in and say, oh wait, you know what? Steve Bannon laid out this plan shortly after the 2020 election go out there, install yourselves in a position to where you control the elections. That's why Donald Trump has endorsed a lot of these people for secretary of state, which is typically you don't see, uh, uh, happen. You don't see former presidents stepping into secretary of state races and Democrats, according to at least one group that funds democratic secretary of state races are not doing enough to show the urgency of how we need to beat these people. The group I'm talking about is a group called I vote and they raise money for secretary of state races for Democrats. And they are, I don't know if I should say sounding the alarm bells, but at least issuing a warning out there that the democratic party is not doing enough to help these democratic secretary of state candidates and if they failed to do so, these Republican election deniers could absolutely w reek havoc on the electoral system in 2024, which of course is the plan. So here's what's happening right now. Um, they've raised about 6 million for democratic secretary of state candidates all across the country, 6 million. Now, granted, as far as I've seen, that's actually more than ever before. So we've never had $6 million to spend on secretary of state races. But the other side has raised a lot more than that. The other side is well organized. The other side has the Republican heavy hitters coming out and endorsing them, doing events with them and pushing their names out there to the public. The Democrats have to do the same thing Saying, so maybe it's time. Somebody makes a phone call to a guy named Barack Obama. It says, Hey, you are still well liked. You're popular, you're energetic, you're charismatic. Maybe you need to go out there and help some of these candidates go and do an event. Please. Maybe it's time for the DNC to start shelling out some money to these secretary of state races. Again, six millions a lot, but it's not enough yet. They need help. They need more, they need the full party support behind them because these secretary of state races could end up being a lot more consequential than any of these house races.
