Area Between Curves | Ex. 8 of 8 | y=-2*sec^2(x), y=2cos(x), x=0, x=π/4
Area Between Curves. Find the area between the curves y=-2*sec^2(x), y=2cos(x), x=0, x=pi/4. Find the area of the region enclosed by the curves. To find the area between the curve we find the bounds of integration and subtract the lower equation from the upper equation and we integrate. This gives us the area between the curves. This is a great Explanation of the Area Between Curves. This is under the topic of Applications of Integration with this free online math video lesson. #calculus #freecalculusvideos #minutemath #areabetweencurves #areaunderthecurve #integrals #definiteintegral #mathhelp #calculushelp #lightboard #mathhelp #mathvideos

Absolute Extrema. Find all points of absolute minima and maxima on the given interval of y=-(1/6)(x+1)^(7/3)+(14/3)(x+1)^(1/3); (-5, 0). We learn how to find the absolute minimum and absolute maximum of y=-(1/6)(x+1)^(7/3)+(14/3)(x+1)^(1/3); (-5, 0). We first find the derivative of the function. Then we find the critical points of the function. We then apply the first derivative test to see where the function is increasing and decreasing. This then helps us find where the function has a relative minimum or a relative maximum. We then use those x-coordinates and plug them into our original function to find the y-coordinate values. We then also find the endpoints of the interval. With all of this information, we can then determine where the Absolute Minima and Absolute Maxima are. This is a great introduction into Relative Extrema. This is under the topic of Applications of Differentiation with this free online math video lesson. #absoluteextrema #absoluteminimum #absolutemaximum #minima #maxima #calculus #derivatives #minutemath #calculushelp
