After getting a good set of torq bit set I was able to breakdown a harddrive to get to the various parts that are useful. The neodymium magnets are small be very powerful. Also, the brushless motor will be useful in a future project.

In collaboration with The STEAMplant, Zander (who is 5 years old) shows how to easily make slime (gloop, ooze, etc) from basic materials found (usually) around the house. Borax, white glue, food colouring and water.

My students and I worked on integrating the little bits classroom kit with the wireless boost-it pack. They were able to combine the use of gears, a motor, a servo, switch and a dimmer creating a small lego car that can be controlled wirelessly. Thanks to the Grade 8 students who worked on it.

I needed to make an automatic wave in response to someone waving at it. I used an ultrasonic and a servo. I ran out of AA batteries so I had to us a 9V with some wire clips and a switch.
