The more broad and open your sense of humor is, the easier it is to handle the more challenging and annoying aspects of life, because more often than not, you will be in a state of extended appreciation of life and not taking much for granted. The more you can appreciate life, this provides more strength and stamina for facing things that are more serious and disturbing. Only with this increased confidence through appreciation can we navigate life without being in a state of clinical depression on the verge of emotional and psychological breakdown. When we can appreciate irony and satire, and be able to even laugh at ourselves and not take everything so damn seriously, we can then keep a more clear and rational mind when the times come when logic and discernment are required to be our steadfast allies in meeting and moving through the trials and tribulations that life can throw at us.
