The Chevy II / Nova is a small car built by Chevrolet on the X-Body platform from 1961 to 1979 and spanned four distinct generations. There was technically a fifth generation, but it was a different platform and not considered by many to be qualified to run the nameplate because it was based on a front wheel drive Toyota platform. The first four generations were available in a number of configurations, but the two door hardtop is the most popular. It came available with a number of different engines ranging from a small 2.4l four cylinder all the way to a burly 402 V8. It was a popular performance car because if it’s small size, light weight, and big V8 Engines. National Trail Raceway is an NHRA member track that began life back in 1964. The complex sits on 320 acres, and back when it was built it was the fifth largest track of its kind in the united states. It plays host to a number of very popular events every year, some of them being Night of Thunder, the Mopar Nationals, Import Face-Off, and Jegs ET Series. Drag Racing is probably one of our favorite events to go record. There is just something about being down on the burnout pad with the drag cars and the different crew members running around while the racers are staging their cars and tearing down the strip. It's the best kind of chaos to be around because it is so coordinated. RPM Army (previously known as Wrench Moran Motorsports) has been around for several years. Today we're bringing you the qualifying session from the Outlaw Street Cars Hot Summer Nights drag racing event that took place at Kil Kare Raceway. The Outlaw Street Car Associations Hot Summer Nights was an 1/8th mile outlaw drag racing series event held at Kil-Kare raceway. It had some of the best racing action all year and spanned multiple classes from True Street cars all the way to the Outlaw Run What Ya Brung class. The OSCA is headquartered in Henderson Kentucky and their web address is outlawstreetcars.com. Kil-Kare Raceway is an NHRA and NASCAR affiliated complex that has both a ¼ mile drag strip and a 3/8 mile oval track. It is located near Xenia and Dayton, Ohio. It was first opened in 1959. The complex, which is believed to be named after an old resort that was near the property, is one of the few strips in the nation with a concrete surface for the entire ¼ mile length.
