Here is a quick and delicious option for any day of the week! Chicken parm burgers give you the flavor of a night out at your favorite Italian place, without making reservations! These start off with ground chicken and then we build up the flavor of the burger with some bread crumb, cheese, egg and seasonings. I have baked my burgers in the oven so that they are all evenly done in the same amount of time and topped them with some pasta sauce and grated Italian blend cheese. I placed the burger on top of some homemade garlic toast in place of the bun and served these beauties open faced! I served my chicken parm burgers with a side of zucchini fries and this was a delicious meal that the entire family loved! Today I am sharing an unboxing of a Wondermill electric grain mill that the Wondermill company was kind enough to offer to send me to try out. I have always wanted to give home milling with an electric mill a try. I have a Wondermill Junior and love it. I have ground wheat and corn in that as well as made peanut butter. It is a great hand mill to have in your arsenal for emergency preparedness. This electric mill has been on my wish list for a long time and never quite got to the top. I am so grateful to Wondermill for sending one for me to work with! I am sharing this unboxing with you along with the "priming" and my first grinding of flour which I used for homemade bread which was delicious, but I will need to work on my recipe to perfect it further. I also plan on grinding other types of whole grains in an effort to explore different ingredients that are available and to broaden my culinary horizons. Nothing says Merry Christmas in the south than a giant pile of cheese straws! There are lots of ways to make these delicious sharp cheesy tidbits of heaven. My way is similar to a shortbread cookie, only without any sugar and with lots of cheese! Spice these up the way you like. Traditionally they have a bit of paprika and cayenne but I bumped it up a bit and added some onion powder and garlic powder along with the salt. Normally these are run through a pastry bag, which I could not do because I have issues with carpal tunnel and early stages of arthritis. So I opted to use my cookie press and it worked perfectly. The plus is that all the straws were nearly the same perfect size. These will freeze really well after they are baked as long as you store them in an airtight container. These will stay nice for up to three months in the freezer. If you don't want to freeze them then you can keep them stored in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
