Quake 2 RTX - Unit 7 - All Secrets No Commentary
No commentary playthrough of the RTX remaster of Quake 2. Hard difficulty, showing all secrets.
Back in 2019, Nvidia Lightspeed released a full path traced version of Quake 2, with full global illumination, ray traced shadows, reflections, occlussion, reworked textures, and new weapon viewmodels. This gives the classic a complete new look, with gorgeous raytraced illumination which at times results in very dark locales, but when it isn't dark it is a sight to behold, specially in outdoor areas. It's a nice novelty to waste some time into, but I'd recommend playing the game in its original form.
I wanted to replay some Quake2 before it's rumored remaster, so I opted for this release, I own a 3060ti, so the raytracing is grainy at times and there is some ghosting because of FSR, but they weren't very distracting except for some grain at times. I also went for a fast clear of the game, not a speedrun, but I blast through the game in like 3 hours. I also opted for offering the whole units in chunks, no point on segmenting it more when there's already another playthrough of the game in the channel... and probably a remaster coming.

Esto le da al clásico un look completamente nuevo, con exhuberante iluminación trazada que, a veces, resulta en locales un poco oscuros, pero cuando no está oscuro, es digno de ver, especialmente en los exteriores. Es una novedad interesante para desperdiciar algo de tiempo en ella, pero recomiendo jugar el juego en su forma original.

Los wads inspirados por Quake2 usando ZDoom eran una moda. Aunque este no ha envejecido como un buen vino precisamente, todavía es majete. 7 nuevos mapas para Doom2 usando elementos de ZDoom pero sin abusar de ellos.

No commentary playthrough of the Doom2 megawad "Doom Zero", created by DASI-I. Played on Ultra-Violence, getting as muchs kills as I could and every secret.
Doom Zero is the latest addition to the curated megawads avaiable on the Unity re-release of the Doom games. A full 32 level megawad for Doom2 that, didn't catch my eye on 2019, and to be honest doesn't still get it. The levels aren't focusing on eye candy at all, they look like your regular super abstract wads from 1996, but what they lack on prettiness are boasting in clever design... Now that I've played it I get why this was chosen.

Doom Zero es la última adición a la lista de megawads disponibles en el port de Unity de los Dooms. Un megawads de 32 niveles que no me entró por los ojos en 2019, y para ser honesto sigue sin hacerlo. Los niveles no se centran en obsequiar a nuestros ojos para nada, lucen como cualquier wad super abstracto de 1996, pero lo que carecen en belleza visual lo compensan con diseño inteligente... Ahora que lo he jugado, entiendo porqué lo han elegido.

No commentary playthrough of Robocop: Rogue City. Normal difficulty. This is a blind playthrough (except for the first level, which was in the demo).
Robocop: Rogue City is a new game based in the universe created by Paul Verhoeven for the cinema back in 1989. It was published by Nexon in 2023 and developed by Teyon, known for the terrible Rambo game (though I enjoyed it), and Terminator: Resistance. This game is set up between the events of the second and the third movie, when a new top dog villain arrives at Detroit City stirring the wasps nest.
R:RG is a FPS running under Unreal Engine 5 and putting it to good use without actually punishing our hardware too much. It combines linear levels, with others with some free roaming where we can do some sidequests aside from our main task, and the police station hub level. It is a very fun game, a labor of love to the franchise with satisfying gunplay making everything in the scene literally blow up, very good visuals*, and with the fan service through the roof. This game comes not without its shortcomings, it is nowhere near AAA game territory, namely AA or even A and it shows in some aspects. Given the limited budget, some locales are reused several times, and the character models show stiff animations in the simple scripted cutscenes. But if you can forgive these details, you'll discover that the devs really went hard doing the best they could do.
This is not a 100% run, it is a blind playthrough, my first time through the game, doing as much content as I could find. I also went with normal difficulty because I wanted to feel like freaking Robocop, a walking tank carelessly pushing forward and wasting thugs.
Footage was recorded at 1440p and upscaled to 4K with the AV1 codec for best video quality thanks to the improved bitrate.

Robocop: Rogue City es un nuevo juego basada en el universo creado para cine por Paul Verhoeven en 1989. Fue publicado por Nexon en 2023 y desarrollado por Teyon, conocidos por el terrible juego de Rambos (que yo personalmente disfruté), y Terminator Resistance. Este juego se situa entre los eventos de la segunda y la tercera película, cuando un nuevo villano llega a Detroit, alterando el gallinero.
R:RG es un FPS corriendo bajo Unreal Engine 5 y poniéndolo a buen uso sin castigar demasiado a nuestro harware. Combina niveles lineales, con otros con algo de libre albedrío con misiones secundarias además de la principal, y el hub de la comisaría de policía. Es un juego divertido, una labor de amor hacia la franquicia con acción satisfactoria que hace que todo salte por los aires, muy buenos gráficos, y con todo el fan service posible. El juego tampoco viene con sus peros, no es ni de cerca un juego AAA, llamadlo AA o incluso A, y se hace ver en algunos aspectos. Dado el presupuesto limitado, veremos algunos lugares reutilizados varias veces, y los modelos de los personajes muestras unas animaciones rígidas en unas escenas con un guión simplón. Pero si podeis perdonar estos detalles, descubrireis que los desarrolladores fueron con todo, haciéndolo lo mejor que lo pudieron hacer.
Este no es un playthrough 100%, es a ciegas, mi primera vez jugando el juego, haciendo todo el contenido que pude encontrar. Tambien fui en dificultad normal porque quería sentirme como el pvto Robocop, un tanque con patas avanzando sin parar liquidando sabandijas.
El metraje fue grabado en 1440p y escalado a 4K con el códec AV1 para una mayor calidad de vídeo gracias a un mejor bitrate.

No commentary playthrough of "The Wheel of Time" for PC, using the Direct3D 11 renderer addon in 4K and proper FoV. Normal difficulty.
I had an older playthrough of this title avaiable on the channel, but it is one of the victims of YouTube's color space processing from July 2020, so it now looks ridiculously dark... I can't even see s*** on my IPS panel. Since the TV Show from Amazon is premiering next week as I'm writing this, I think it's time to fix this playthrough, and improve it. I also took advantage of the situation to go up from 1080p to 4K, offer shorter level playtimes, and include the fmv cutscenes in full. I've included the mission intros as outros on the different videos, most of the cutscenes are LONG, with many of them ranging from 4mins to 10mins... So you don't have to go skipping to find the actual gameplay. I also decided to go with normal skill level after recording like 85% of the game on hard, it was turning into a miserable experience, with more enemies and no extra ammo I had to rely often on cheap tactics and even skipping enemies. Definetly not fun to watch.
Based on the books by the same name, WoT is a shooter from 1999 using Unreal Engine, and developed by Legend Entertainment, which its main point are the many avaiable spells for the player to use, ranging from lots of different attacks, to reflecting shields, levitation and many others. The game still has a small but dedicated multiplayer community, and I can see why, those spells give a lot of tools to have fun.

Tenía un playthrough anterior disponible en el canal, pero fue una de las primeras víctimas de los cambios que YouTube realizó en cómo se almacenan los espacios de color en los vídeos allá por Julio de 2020, de forma que ahora luce ridículamente oscuro... No puedo ver m***** ni en mi panel IPS. Ya que la serie de Amazon se estrena la semana siguiente a escribir esto, creo que va siendo hora de arreglar este playthrough, y mejorarlo. Aprovecho la situación para subir de 1080p a 4K, mejorar los tiempos en cada nivel, e incluir las cutscenes al completo. He incluído las intro de las misiones como outros en los distintos capítulos, ya que muchos de ellas son LARGAS, entre 4 y 10 minutos... de esta forma no tendreis que andar saltando por el vídeo para encontrar el gameplay. También he decidido jugarlo en normal después de haber grabado el 85% del juego en difícil, ya que se estaba convirtiendo en una experiencia miserable, con más enemigos y la misma munición para despacharlos, con lo que tenía que recurrir a tácticas baratas e incluso escapar de los enemigos para avan

No commentary playthrough of Hexen: Beyond Heretic. Played on max difficulty, using GZDoom.
This playthrough is and update over my previousone and is meant to be the ultimate one. Improvements:
- 4K, for better bitrate and overall video quality
- Shows all secret levels
- Played with every player class
- Highest difficulty level
Hexen is 1995's Raven Software spinoff for Heretic, set in the same world, where you go on the hunt for another of the Serpent Riders. This time around the game world is set in level hubs, where you do different tasks in each one of the levels to unlock new sections in the other levels and eventually solve one big hub puzzle. You now can also choose between 3 different player characters with different weapons, run speed, and use of certain inventory items.
It's Hexen! You either love it or hate it. For me, I do love how the game looks, the weapons, the enemies, the weapon sound effects, the desings, the atmosphere... Literally everything but the game itself. The overdone puzzles can do for a very frustrating first playthrough with lots of wtf moments wondering what does mean that the switch you just activated did just do. The enemies are just time fillers between the switches and there's no point in killing them (if they dropped gold or xp at least...). There are death pits and insta death traps. The player classes are cool, but in the end you are stuck with just 4 weapons during your playthrough. It's a good game... if you happen to like enough aspects of it and tolerate its shortcomings.

Este playthrough es una mejora sobre el anterior que había subido y debería ser el definitivo. Mejoras:
- En 4K para mejor bitrate y calidad de vídeo
- Enseña todos los niveles secretos
- Máximo nivel de dificultad
- Jugado con las 3 clases
Hexen es el spinoff de Heretic que Raven Software lanzó en 1995. Situado en el mismo mundo, ahora vas a la caza de otro de los Serpent Riders. El juego está dividido en bloques de niveles, en los que haces distintas tareas que desbloquean nuevas áreas en los demás niveles, con el objetivo de completar un gran puzzle en el nexo principal. También permite elegir entre varias clases de personaje, con distantas armas, velocidad y uso de ciertos objetos del inventario.
¿Qué voy a decir que no se haya dicho ya? ¡Es Hexen! Lo odias, o lo amas. En mi caso me encanta cómo luce, las armas, los diseños, los enemigos, la atmósfera, los efectos de sonido... Básicamente todo menos el juego en sí. Los puzzles enrevesados dan para un primer playthrough bastante frustrante con muchos momentos donde te preguntas qué carajo ha hecho el botón que acabas de activar. Los enemigos solamente son relleno para desperdiciar tu tiempo entre botón y botón (si al menos diesen oro o experiencia...). Hay pozos sin fondo y trampas que te matan instantáneamente. Lo de las clases está bien, pero luego te encuentras con tan sólo 4 armas distintas durante el playthrough. Es un buen juego, si te gustan suficientes cosas de él y estás dispuesto a tolerar sus defectos.

No commentary playthrough of Cybermage: Darklight Awakening, running on PC through DOSBox-x. Normal/medium difficulty.
Cybermage: Darklight Awakening is a first person shooter released in 1995, developed by Origin Systems, published by Electronic Arts and produced by none other than Warren Spector. It is a cyberpunk themed shooter with rpg-ish elements. In the year 2044 AD, world governments have fallen apart and the Earth is ruled by ruthless corporations doing anything for profit. However, rebels are fighting against corporate control all over the planet. You awaken in a laboratory while it is under attack and everyone is out to get you, you have a crystal embedded in your head, and also some evil forces led by NeCrom have taken over the city. Who are you? Why are they chasing you?
Cybermage can be described as "Tekwar done right"-ish, while not a great game, as CM is full of jank, at least manages to be functional in everything it tries to do. We have a hub city level, inventory, shops, NPCs that provide you with the plot and the missions, vehicles... Quite an ambitious game for 1995, but the gunplay is not great.

Cybermage: Darklight Awakening es un shooter en primera persona lanzado en 1995, desarrollado por Origin Systems, publicado por Electronic Arts y producido por el mismísimo Warren Spector. Es un juego de temática Cyberpunk con elementos de RPG. Es el año 2044, los gobiernos han caído y el mundo es gobernado por corporaciones sin escrúpulos que harán lo que sea por obtener beneficios. Los rebeldes luchan contra estas corporaciones a lo ancho del planeta. Te despiertas en un laboratorio que está bajo ataque y todo el mundo anda a tu caza y captura, con una piedra incrustada en la frente, y además las fuerzas malvadas de Nekron han tomado la ciudad. ¿Quién eres? ¿Por qué te persiguen?
Cybermage se puede describir como "Tekwar bien", aunque no es un gran juego, ya que CM tiene muchas cosas sin pulir, al menos es funcional en todo lo que pretende hacer. Tenemos un nivel nexo en la ciudad, inventario, tiendas, PNJs que nos propocionan la trama y las misiones, vehículos... Ambicioso para 1995, pero la acción no es muy satisfactoria.
