After the battle, Team Rocket will leave, and Lance will examine the machine that is causing havoc to the Lake of Rage. Shedinja has an ability called Wonder Guard, which protects it from all attacks except from super effective ones. Yanmega will use Air Slash for a 30% chance of making the target flinch and Ancientpower for a 10% chance of raising all of its stats. Pinsir will use Rock Tomb to lower the target’s Speed stat and Guillotine to bring the target down in one hit. Heracross will use Counter to draw back any physical attack for double the damage and Stone Edge to more easily land a critical hit. Vespiquen will use Confuse Ray to confuse the target and Attack Order to more easily score a critical hit. Moves like Flamethrower and Aerial Ace work best for this battle.

The stage begins with a shell-less Koopa sliding down the hill. The first Yoshi Coin floats next to the hill. After a Banzai Bill flies by, a Rex will appear. Stepping on a Rex will make it flatten and go faster. A yellow Rex will go faster than the blue ones and run towards you. The 2nd Yoshi Coin floats by the hills where Rexes come by. While powered up, spin jump to break the pipes and go down the pipe. In a secret underground passage, spin jump to break the blocks and get the 3rd Yoshi Coin. Use the pipe to return to the surface and you’ll reach the checkpoint. The 4th Yoshi Coin is over the hills where a few Rexes come by. When another Banzai Bill flies by, pass by a few Rexes and a Jumping Piranha Plant will appear from the pipe. Get the 5th Yoshi Coin and pass a Chargin’ Chuck to reach the goal.

Ground pound through the concrete and you’ll get 2 Red Coins over 2 Shy Guys. Continue to pound through and you’ll find the first flower surrounded by 2 Red Coins. After throwing an egg through arrow puffs, use the arrow ball to bounce and you’ll find 3 Red Coins. Ground pound all the way down to find 3 Red Coins by 2 arrow balls. Hit a ? Puff to reveal a door. Throw an egg up where a lantern ghost is to make an arrow ball drop then bounce off it to find the 2nd flower. After a checkpoint over a mushroom, turn left to find 3 Red Coins. Break the concrete to reveal a ? Puff that releases a door to a secret room. Defeat all of the lantern ghosts for 4 Red Coins and the 3rd flower. Use an arrow ball over a spiked mace set to find 3 Red Coins. Under a mini-game hut, throw an egg at arrow puffs so they hit the 4th flower. Go to the top of the cave and pass some bats to find the next door. You’ll find another checkpoint and cross over platforms with Gusty flyers on the lines. Use the arrow ball to enter the next area and break the concrete over number platforms for the last flower. After a chomp rock and ball flower, you’ll find the goal.

The scene will begin to side-scroll. If you stand on donut platforms, they will fall if you stand on them too long. Use the Koopa shells or white blocks to break blocks for coins or other prizes. After a spinning propeller, go down the pipe and you’ll find the goal.

After crossing the first zone by riding platforms, hit the ? Block at a mushroom tower zone and wings will reveal. Touch the wings with Yoshi and you’ll take a ride in the sky. Collect the remaining Yoshi Coins and fall out of the sky to finish.

The starting section has bolts on the ground and jumping tentacles. If flames appear, they will soar sky high and come down, so be ready to dodge. If you touch the lava, you’re out. If flame pillars rise, just wait it out until they die out. After descending once, ride a platform over spikes and turn right. Flame pillars will also appear on the wall, so time your movements to get past them. As you keep climbing, keep timing your movements to avoid the flame pillars. At the next section, fragments of fire will emerge from the ducts above, so give it your best timing to get past them. Descend and you’ll begin riding on moving platforms. After evading embers from the lava, enter the cap doors to take on Fire Man. Fire Man will move around and unleash a wall of fire that travels horizontally along with a smaller flame that travels upward. Using the Thunder Beam has an advantage. Defeat Fire Man and you’ll receive the Fire Storm.
