"Don't Tread on Others" vs "Don't Tread on Me" | Sandy Ikeda
Dr. Sandy Ikeda explains why he thinks "Don't Tread on Others" is the heart of libertarianism, not "Don't Tread on Me."
In the words of Leonard Read, the founder of FEE, "in order to change the world, we first have to change ourselves." We have to show self restraint, self control, and self discipline, and not use the state apparatus, political means, or the threat of violence to get what we want.
Sheldon Richman interviews Dr. Thomas Szasz, a giant in both the field of psychiatry and in the movement for the liberation of the individual from all unwarranted coercion.

The Foundation for Economic Education has been around for 70 years, but what we're up to right now is completely new. We've rebuilt our website from the ground up and reinvented the way we're reaching people about sound economic principles and the idea of freedom as a life philosophy.
If you're an old friend, have a look at what we've been up to, and if you're new to FEE, we think you'll like what you see.

People constantly search for ways to improve their quality of life. Often times this requires relocating to new places. While relocation within the same country is considered acceptable, many oppose relocation when foreign nationals relocate to their country because foreigners "steal" jobs from local workers. Professor Benjamin Powell thinks this is not true. Immigrants improve their own lives, but they also have positive effects on the local economy: immigrants create new jobs for locals.
About the speaker: FEE Scholar Benjamin Powell is Director of The Institute for the Teaching and Study of Free Market Economics at Texas Tech, where he also teaches economics as visiting professor.
