How To Organize and Store Your Seeds I 5 Dog Farm
Organization is becoming a key word here on the farm. So many projects with so little time leave no time to be wasted. Luxury time is a thing of the past (for now anyway). Last year my seed organizing consisted of me tossing what I wanted to plant in a plastic container and finding out that the "resealable" glue on the packets doesn't really work well. Seeds all over the bottom of the box! I really think I'll start a mystery seed raised bed! I found a system to prepare, store and organize this years seeds that makes sense to me. A bit more organization!

Talk about a dream coming true. Mr. Bluejeans and I had wanted to live in a farmhouse for so long. We wanted it to be very different and cost effective. We stumbled upon post and beam monitor barn construction and I was smitten with the look of these barns. So, why not take the next step and make it our home. We did! Ok, I couldn't resist the joke but we are dishing on dirt today! Or rather soil since we want nice rich soil for our gardens. Here's a simple way, with only two household supplies, to give a quick test and determine if you soil is acidic or alkaline. I've made a move toward less consumerism and more using what I have on hand. Now, if you are looking for exact numbers... this is not going to give you that BUT it will at least let you know what end of the spectrum you are on so... Let's test our soil!
