Ondagawa is a small river that flows through Machida City, a suburb in southwest Tokyo. Unassuming all year long, Ondagawa is, however, during Sakura season, one of the most beautiful secret sakura spots in Tokyo that you definitely have to check thanks to its 400 plus cherry trees planted along the Ondagawa river bank.
Mie Ise Grand Shrine Naiku - 伊勢神宮内宮 - 4K Ultra HD : Located in Mie prefecture and in the city of Ise, Ise Grand Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the Amaterasu-Omikami goddess . Spread across a vast part of Ise, Ise Grand Shrine is mainly composed of two major complexes known as Naiku and Geku.
Being the principal temple of Ise Grand Shrine, Naiku, is by far the most beautiful shrine of all, with trees as old as 800 years. Being one of Japan’s most sacred shrines it is not permitted for anyone to take photos or videos above a certain threshold, as well as the many partitions that keep the secret beauty of this place intact and only available to a certain few. Simple yet majestic, the shrine is unlike many others in Japan, rebuilt every 20 years from top to bottom including as well the Uji Bridge. This is a 100m long bridge, which also happens to be the only way for people like you and I to access the shrine.

Located in the northeast mountains of Yamagata City, and in the prefecture of the same name, Yamadera is a scenic temple sitting on a cliff and offering a stunning view of its surrounding valley. Yamadera was founded in 860 and belongs to the Rissakuji Sect, also known as the Tendai Sect.
Yamadera has been made famous by its unique past and location. The temple was founded by one of the most important Buddhist priests in the Tohoku Region; Jikaku Daishi. It was also often visited by the famous Japanese poet Basho who apparently composed one of his most enduring haiku there.
While Yamadera’s main hall, Konponchudo Hall, is located at the base of the mountain, the Okuno-In, Shozo and famous Godaido Hall with its unique view over the valley are all located on top of the mountain.
Unfortunately, being a victim of its own success as well as the being slightly disfigured by the many electric cables and poles erected on the temple grounds is in total disrespect of the natural wonder of the area. Yamadera today does not necessarily reflect how amazing this place used to be.

One of Tokyo’s most unconventional green spaces, Todoroki Valley is located just 20 minutes away from Shibuya Station and in the center of the densely populated Setagaya Ward.
Unlike many other places in Japan, Todoroki Valley is a simple walking trail adjacent to the Yazawa River and surrounded by a very dense forest that totally shields it from one of Tokyo’s busiest roads, Kan-Pachi Dori.
While the 1.2km long walking trail of the Todoroki Valley is a pure bliss, it is only at the end of the voyage that you can discover yet another hidden wonder with the Todoroki Fudo temple. Here you will be able to enjoy some delicious Mochi (Japanese rice sweets) and Ramune (Lemonade) as well as having the opportunity to let the gods hear your prayers and wash away your sins.

Here is the second part of our trip to Ueno Park! Today we will visit three new locations:
-Toshogu Shrine (Part 2)
-Ueno Park Pagoda (Part 2)
-Bentendo Hall Temple and the Shinobazu Pond (Part 2)

-Kiyomizu Kannon Temple (Part 1)
-Hanazono inari Temple (Part 1)
-Gojoten Temple (Part 1)
Toshogu Shrine:
Believe it or not, the Toshogu Shrine is one of only a few Edo-Era structures in Tokyo to have survived earthquakes, fires, and even wars. Built in 1627, the Toshogu Shrine underwent a major renovation in 1651 on the orders of the Shogun Tokugawa Iemitsu. What’s unique about this shrine, besides being similar in style to the Shrine of Nikko (also called Toshogu) with its gold-plated decorations, are the 50 large copper lanterns that guide you through the shrine itself. Usually made from stone, these lanterns were donated to the Shogun by a warlord named Daimyo.
Ueno Park Pagoda:
Perhaps one of the best parts of the Kaneiji Temple (not covered on these 2 videos), is its pagoda. Separated from its main temple, this 5 storied pagoda can unfortunately only be enjoyed from the Ueno Zoo, and only after spending a few hundred yen. However, the pagoda is not the only beautiful structure to see and enjoy. There are also architectural masterpieces that have for centuries defied the force of Japan’s earthquakes (http://web-japan.org/nipponia/nipponia33/en/topic/)
Bentendo Hall Temple and the Shinobazu Pond:
Build in the early 17th century by Mizunoya Katsutakathe, the Bentendo Hall Temple is a Benzaiten-type temple located in the middle of the Shinobazu Pond. Unfortunately, the actual Bentendo Hall Temple you can see today is not the original and was in fact rebuilt from the ground up in 1958 after being destroyed in 1945. To be fair this temple is not the most interesting part of Uneo Park, however, its pond and the giant lotuses are magnificent and can be fully enjoyed in the summer where they cover the entire surface of the pond.

Note : This is yet another version of the first video we made a couple of month ago. This video was taken when testing a new Lens for our gear and could not resist to share these footage of Shibuya's famous crossing with you... Hope you will enjoy these long, yet gorgeous video of one of the world most famous crossing.
------------------
One of Tokyo’s most famous locations, Shibuya Crossing, a scramble crossing, is located just in front of Shibuya Station and a few step away from the Statue of Hachiko*.
Shibuya Crossing has been made famous not only by its atypical crossing but also by its giants TV Screens, many advertising signs and youth fashion stores.
Compared by many to New York’s Times Square, Shibuya Crossing has been seen in many foreign movies around the world and quickly became a number one tourist curiosity in Japan.
*Hachiko was an Akita dog that died in 1935. He is celebrated and remembered for his loyalty to his owner even after the owner died. For an additional 10 years, Hachiko continued his ritual of walking to Shibuya Station and waiting for his beloved owner to return.

Genkyu-en Garden is a Daimyo ("feudal lord") garden located to the northeast of Hikone Castle. It was created in 1677 to resemble the Eight Views of Omi originating from the Chinese Eight Views of Xiaoxiang and from the Eight Views of Lake Biwa.
A representative example of the Japanese Daimyo garden style, it is designated as a Japan Heritage site. September every year sees the holding of the "Meet to Hear the Sound of Insects in Genkyu-en," and November the "Fall Genkyu-en Illuminations," both allowing you to enjoy a rich garden experience.

Founded in 1323, the Ryutakuji Temple of Seiyo is located at the entrance of Seiyo Ryutakuji Green Park. While Ryutakuji is open all year long to the public, the temple itself is actually closed as no more Monks are living there. It is however thanks to villagers living around that Ryutakuji Temple maintained all year long and still open for us to enjoy.
