I was contacted by the folks at ICStation who offered to provide me with a product to review at no cost to me so I happily accepted. Since I do a lot of scavenging for electronic components I chose to review their LCD1602D RLC and Transistor Tester (http://www.icstation.com/lcd1602d-transistor-tester-graphic-display-tester-meter-p-7175.html). The following video is my honest review where I take her for a test spin measuring various random transistors, capacitors, resistors, inductors, and diodes. Does it satisfactorily measure all of the components it claims? Is it worth the $14 asking price? Can it make you breakfast in bed? Will I ever stop asking rhetorical questions? Watch to find out!
I would like to thank ICStation for generously providing me with the product to review as well as all of my loyal viewers who support this channel. As a thank you, use the coupon code: 4306ics to receive 10% off your next order at www.icstation.com (expires 12/10/16). Additionally the site is holding a big wholesale discount with mysterious free gifts during Black Friday so head on over and pick up some parts for your next project!

Vankyo X95 Max: https://amzn.to/2MH9UaB
Vankyo has reached out to me to see if I would be interested in reviewing their new 4K android tv box. As I just upgraded to a brand new 4K tv and have no other device that is capable of 4k content I thought it would be a perfect match. In this video we take a look at the physical device, setting it up, as well as the android 9 tv custom interface.
All in all I'm blown away by how much functionality you get for the $60 asking price. Everything runs flawlessly, with a snappy interface thanks to the quad core processor, 4GB ram/32GB flash, and hardware video decoding. Expandability is great with onboard micro sd slot, and usb 3 and 2 ports. Dual band wifi and bluetooth 4.2 ensure fast, easy connections (even in my living room where wifi is notoriously weak). 4K, UHD, HDR and 3D capability! You'll be hard pressed to get this much hardware elsewhere for the asking price. If you are thinking of upgrading your TV or projector experience then seriously consider checking out the X95 Max!!!

I'm in need of clocks in my new house so conveniently ANALOI kindly offered to send in their large LED Clock. The original price is $60 but it's currently on sale for just under $30. It's got two alarms, countdown/timer, temperature, RGB accent lighting, auto/manual display dimming, IR remote control, runs off 5V USB and calendar/day of week along with large time digits. That was a mouthful but specs alone don't tell the whole story. Let's test out this clock and see if it's worth the sale price let alone the original cost.

Check out the Cleanamp from Retrosix (https://retrosix.co.uk): https://handheldlegend.com/products/cleanamp-audio-amplifier-with-speaker-for-game-boy?_pos=2&_sid=5cbcf051b&_ss=r
I've done installation videos for replacement backlit replacement lcds for the gameboy color and advance in the past so when my buddy at Handheld Legend asked if I was interested in trying my hand at the new pocket ips kit I knew I wanted to give it a shot. As luck would have it I had a pocket with a beat up shell, missing the speaker and with a broken lcd so this was the perfect chance to do a major overhaul. Let's see the how the installation goes, if there are any gotchas, and most importantly how they perform. Strap yourselves in for a modding marathon!!! Huge thanks to Handheld Legend for sending the lcd, amp, shell, buttons and glass screen lens in for this retro refurb!

Time to check out Eksa's newest model of headphones. I've reviewed a number of Eksa's headphones in the past so this time they asked me to make a video comparing their new StarEngine Pro with the HyperX Cloud II (I assume their closest competitor model). Full disclosure, Eksa have sent me both headphones free of charge but I'll try my best to review them as if I purchased them with my own money. I've used both headphones for two weeks each, using them for everything from listening to music, podcasts, video editing, light gaming and holding web meetings. So let's put both models through the paces and see what your $70 and $100, respectively, gets you.

This time I've picked up a scuffed pearl pink ags-101 backlit Gameboy Advance SP that needs a new ... non-pink case. I found some neat colored replacement shells on EBay so I just had to try one out.

Finally manned up and worked out some bugs in the code which prevented the RTC from working properly. Odd that this project is only from a year ago but it really felt like it was from years ago. Here is to hoping that I can finally finish this project that's long overdue.

Dankpods introduced me to KZ, a manufacturer of in ear monitor earbuds, in one of his videos so about a year ago I bought their lowest end ~$20 model and was pleasantly surprised how good they were for the price. Fast forward to about a month ago I was shocked to see one of their representatives reached out to me to see if I was interested in reviewing one of their midrange models! Of course I was!
In this video we take a look at their new ZAR model. Still blows my mind that they managed to cram 8 drivers (a few different types to handle different frequencies) into such a small earbud that comfortably fits in my ear. Let's see though if they are worth the ~$130 (though currently on sale for ~$80) asking price and what they offer in terms of performance.

Just a quick video showing off how awesome Arduboy games look on a green 2.42" OLED screen. Thanks ICStation for generously providing me the review sample so I could upgrade my Arducart project with a jumbo screen instead of the tiny 0.9" one I was testing with. Super happy with how bright, uniform and clear the screen is. I'll definitely use these in future projects that need to display information.
