This blend should surprise anyone who has paid attention to my tastes in tobacco. It has a healthy amount of Turkish, lesser amounts of both Burley and Cigar Leaf, and 35% Latakia. It seems that the Turkish and Latakia balance Spyglass very well indeed.
A proper English mixture composed of only the finest Virginia, Maryland and burley tobaccos with a pinch of latakia. The result is a remarkable blend that is medium bodied and traditionally English in character.
A cube-cut mixture of Burley, Virginia, Latakia, and a pinch of toasted Cavendish. #88 is a rich English blend with a nutty flavor that's unbelievably cool. A satisfying all day smoke.
Centuries of tobacco craftmanship go into Amphora Full. In addition to the Virginia tobaccos an exact amount of burley and Oriental tobaccos from three continents balance the blend. And the result is a well rounded and slow burning blend. Amphora is the trademark of high quality pipe tobacco.
Notes: Made by MacBaren since 2006, the company owns the blend as of 2015.
An interesting, old-time blend, named after the original Dutch name for the city of Albany, NY (our home). Three different cube cuts (a Burley, a Virginia and a hybrid) are blended together with smoky Latakia, and spicy-sweet Perique. One of our regulars compares it to some of the original NYC Wilke mixtures. If you like Barking Dog, Revelation, Walnut or Country Doctor, give this a try.
