Reasons Why Mobb Deep Left G-Unit Records

In 2005, the hip-hop world was surprised when G-Unit Records announced that they'd signed Mobb Deep to a record deal. Part of the surprise was that Mobb Deep was a well-established rap group that was vastly different from the G-Unit image. So the deal was rather unexpected.
At the time, every G-Unit artist was going platinum. So it kind of seemed Mobb Deep would reach their highest level of notoriety with a machine like G-Unit behind them.
But contrary to the expectations of some fans such as myself that didn't happen.
So, the question is what caused Mobb Deep to leave one of hip-hop's most successful labels at the time?

Mobb Deep had a successful 25-year music career prior to Prodigy's passing. The group is most known for their songs Shook Ones Pt. II, and Survival of the Fittest which are on their Infamous album. They're also well-known for Quiet Storm and its remix which are on their Murda Muzik album.
But despite those two albums being the group's most commercially successful projects, I think a case can be made that their best album was actually their third one which was titled Hell on Earth.
That album came out in 1996 and sits right between The Infamous, which came out in 1995, and Murda Muzik which came out in 1999. In this video we'll look at four reasons why I think Hell on Earth is Mobb Deep's best album.

The disappointing career of Jay Electronica
Few artists can boast the buzz that was built by Jay Electronica when he hit the music scene in 2009. People hailed him as the next big lyricist in rap and expectations were sky high for him. He came out at a time when auto-tuned vocals, trap music, and a lot of party music was dominating the hip-hop airwaves. So he was a breath of fresh air with his conscious and more introverted style lyrics.
Fans and fellow rappers praised him and looked forward to hearing more music from him.
However, due to the magnitude of his hype, few rappers can probably say that they were a bigger let down than he was.

Once in a while an eccentric and anomalous character appears in the hip-hop culture. In the early 90s just at the tail-end of hip-hop's golden age, there emerged a group of brothers known as the Wu-Tang Clan. Each emcee in the clan was unique, but none was more distinct than Ol' Dirty Bastard. He had an onstage image that oozed energy, personality, and a carefree, unorthodox nature.
A decade after Wu-Tang's rise to prominence, the world was saddened and shocked by the untimely death of ODB at the age of 35.
This is a brief look into the life and sad ending of Ol' Dirty Bastard.
ODB was born Russell Tyrone Jones in 1968 in Brooklyn, New York. He was one of the original members of what would later become the Wu-Tang Clan, alongside his cousins GZA and RZA. The trio called themselves Force of the Imperial Master. That name changed to All in Together Now and then eventually to the Wu-Tang Clan after adding 6 more members.

The case of Beanie Sigel's rap career is one of the most frustrating in my opinion because I feel like he had massive potential but didn't reach the heights that he could've. And I know, my expectations mean nothing to this man's life, but as a fan I get emotionally invested and coz of that it can be frustrating to watch some of these things happen.
