The challenge has been set and I'm picking up the gauntlet.
Simple Electronics and Junk From Work put out a speed soldering challenge a month or so ago, and now that my kit has arrived I'm going to dive in.
This is a common and cheap LM317 based linear regulator power supply kit.
Here's the mailbag that mine arrived in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmA1EMneZbQ
And here is a playlist of all the other contenders for the speed record:

It's probably not the best way to do it.

I finally got around to weathering my cheap flat car kit.
Weathering can make the cheapest freight car kit blend into your layout using minimal effort and inexpensive materials.

Just a casual little kit build today.
I wasn't sure I could actually get this one out before Christmas, but here it is!
Pour yourself a seasonally appropriate beverage and let's get started!

Another Dollarama find! This time it's a Sylvania SmartPlug.
I assume it's a clearance item.
This is another of those IoT thingies that refuses to work without signing onto some app and letting a random cloud server take control.
Clearly I'm not going to allow that, but it's still interesting to look inside and see what makes it tick.

I see a lot of people new to model railroading sticking to the ready-to-run models.
This video is to show that the basic kits are a good way to get your feet wet in model kit building.
This ispretty much the most basic kit you can buy. Nice and easy, and fun to put together.
And it's less expensive than ready-to-run.

Welcome to the next instalment of my December month of kit builds.
This time it's a digital ammeter kit
Despite one missing component and a bit of difficulty calibrating it, this kit ended up not bad.
And, as always, it was an entertaining time putting it together.
If you want your own copy of this kit, it is available in many places, including:
