It is an open source document and may be reposted and/or edited by anyone without credit to its author, Jock Doubleday.
"A New Declaration of Independence of the People of the Land Known Today as the United States of America" is a declaration, not a petition. As the events of 2014 continue to make clear, there is no time left for humanity to petition their respective governments. It is past the midnight hour. Humanity must declare sovereignty now.
There are countless ways to declare sovereignty. Plant a backyard or front-yard garden in suburban and rural areas. Create an indoor sprouts forest in a city apartment. Buy local organic produce when outdoor gardens and indoor sprouts forests don't meet your needs. Network with other lovers of nature who choose not to live in a world created by corporations dedicated to growth at all costs. Close your bank account. Barter with friends and make new friends through bartering. Trade goods, silver, labor.
The idea that each of us has the ability to declare sovereignty is the foundational premise of this document. Much of the world still believes that a sovereign is someone who rules over others, a royal figure wearing a crown and robes. Nothing could be further from the truth. This document is meant to encourage all of humanity to see that every person is her or his own authority and may not be ruled by another.
This is not a petition to criminal politicians. It is a declaration to them and to the bankers and other interests who control them and who, through them, would control you.
