Took Sam for a walk to a natural waterhole. Had a pretty busy week again getting the Construction Space rearranged, changing bandsaw blades, sharpening tools and of course, teaching. Had a turning win too.
Rain, Car troubles, removing pallets and reclaimed timber from the block.

Wife bought a couple of these small glass top tables from Amart here in Australia. They come in a flat pack box and are incredibly easy to assemble. While most people should have no problem assembling this, even without the instructions, I setup my phone and recorded the process.
Apart from the intro, which I recorded when I was finished, this was a one take video.
That take was 9 mins and 20 seconds, from press start to press stop. My wife said “who would need a video on how to do this?”
I’ve edited slightly by speeding up spots and making a few cuts (like when I stood up to check the camera because so I thought I heard it stop, and when my wife came to the door to ask me something)

Some more work on my block retaining wall, some student project updates, Max's engine saga "solved", and all with a re-injured back.
If engine breakdowns/stripdowns is your thing, come see a DIY bloke do it, with whatever he can find.

ANZAC Day was very different this year.
With COVID19 keeping people physically isolated, the traditional parades of war veterans were unable to be held. I would usually watch the Sydney parade on TV, looking for the regiments or battalions that my relatives were in.
This year, people were asked to stand at their driveways at dawn (6am) to show their respect. I decided to stand at my back deck as it faces east, and watch the dawn break as I remembered those that fought and died or survived for our and other countries during times of war.
I could hear some of my neighbours out at their driveways, but standing in silence, listening to the sound of the Blue Mountains at dawn, was very peaceful, and a fitting way to remember our veterans.
Lest we forget.
The new addition to the family is a welcome distraction. He loves to fetch. Work as usual. Making gains. Feeling more relaxed about covid - should we be?
