***”Supergrass”*** are an English rock band formed in 1993 in Oxford. The band consists of brothers ***[Gaz](https://cutt.ly/hcFGyBY)*** (guitar and lead vocals) and ***[Rob Coombes](https://cutt.ly/pcFGa6t)*** (keyboards), ***[Mick Quinn](https://cutt.ly/DcFGjfa)*** (bass and backing vocals) and ***[Danny Goffey](https://cutt.ly/ScFGcf3)*** (drums and backing vocals).
Like many other British bands of the '90s, Supergrass' musical roots lie in the infectiously catchy punk-pop of the **”[Buzzcocks](https://cutt.ly/vcFGmGK)”** and the **”[Jam](https://cutt.ly/gcFGUPP)”**, as well as the post-punk pop of **”[Madness](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madness_(band))”** and the traditional Brit-pop of the **”[Kinks](https://cutt.ly/ecFGAbb)”** and **”[Small Faces](https://cutt.ly/JcFGGSI)”**.
With an exuberant, youthful enthusiasm, Supergrass tied all of their influences together in surprising new ways, where a Buzzcocks riff could slam into three-part harmonies out of *"Crocodile Rock,"* or have a galloping music hall rhythm stutter like the best moments of **”[The Who](https://cutt.ly/ccFGZmo)”**.
***“In It for the Money”*** is the band's second studio albums, released in 1997. Under the **Parlophone**,**Capitol** and **Echo/BMG**.
Supergrass' debut album, **”[I Should Coco](https://cutt.ly/GcFBgIk)”**, rushed by at such a blinding speed that some listeners didn't notice the melodic complexity of its best songs. On its second album, the band brought the songs to the forefront, slowing the tempos considerably and constructing a varied, textured album that makes the band's ambition and skill abundantly clear.
And even with the fact that the band has delved deeply into psychedelia, **”Supergrass”** hasn't sacrificed its good-natured humor, as the detailed production and the bizarre closer, ***"Sometimes I Make You Sad"***, make abundantly clear.
Sometimes, maturity turns out to be everything it's supposed to be. (***[Stephen Thomas Erlewine](https://cutt.ly/bcF3dag)***, **[AllMusic](https://www.allmusic.com/)**)
***”You Can See Me”*** is the tenth song on **”Supergrass”** second album **[In It for the Money](https://cutt.ly/tcF3Ac2)**

***"Stereolab"*** are an English-French avant-pop band formed in London in 1990.
Led by the songwriting team of ***[Tim Gane](https://cutt.ly/BmFnRwl)*** (guitar and keyboards) and ***[Lætitia Sadie](https://cutt.ly/dmFnYuG)r***(vocals, keyboards and guitar), the group's music combines influences from *krautrock*, *lounge* and *1960s pop music*, often incorporating a repetitive motorik beat with heavy use of vintage electronic keyboards and female vocals sung in English and French.
Their lyrics have political and philosophical themes influenced by the ***[Surrealist](https://cutt.ly/imFnOlx)*** and ***[Situationist](https://cutt.ly/ymFnAt5)*** movements.
Although ***"Stereolab"*** found success in the underground music scene and were influential enough to spark a renewed interest in older analogue instruments, they have never had a significant commercial impact. Meaby the key is lost in the interview where ***Gane*** and ***Sadier*** have discussed their musical philosophy - *"to be unique for us was more important than to be good"*.
Despite its semi-archival status, the band’s tenth album ***Not Music***, sounds fresh, and distinct from ***"Chemical Chords"***. It shares the streamlined feel of that album, but many of these songs don’t fit that album’s distillation of lounge, **Motown**, and **French pop** elements - and those that do, sound like warped reflections of them.
These songs take a more cerebral, yet still playful, with some moments that evoke ***"Stereolab"*** quintessential sounds; ***"[Equivalences](https://cutt.ly/Sm3JDB9)"*** rides a descending keyboard motif that the group’s fans will recognize immediately, while the dreamy waltz ***"[Aelita](https://cutt.ly/Um3JGBq)"*** and ***"[Lelekato Sugar's](https://cutt.ly/mm3JFK6)"*** mix of fuzz bass, marimba, and ***Laetitia Sadier*** sweetly whispered philosophical nothings evoke the ***"[Mars Audiac Quintet](https://cutt.ly/xm9iRfJ)"/"[Emperor Tomato Ketchup](https://cutt.ly/um9iOXY)"*** era.
***”Not Music”*** is all over the place in the best possible way, and fans who love the band’s gracefully intellectual side will especially appreciate it. Taken with ***”[Chemical Chords](https://cutt.ly/Lm9obcI)”***, it’s a testament to just how much ground the band could cover while remaining purely ***”Stereolab”***.
***”Sun Demon”*** is the tenth song on the band's tenth studio album, ***”[Not Music](https://cutt.ly/hm9oT4m)”***, released on 16 November 2010 by ***"[Drag City](https://cutt.ly/Wm2chwU)"*** and ***"[Duophonic Records](https://cutt.ly/ym2ckxS)"***.

# ***"Autumn's Grey Solace" Biography***
***“Autumn's Grey Solace”*** is an American ethereal wave and *dream pop* duo from ***[St. Augustin, Florida](https://cutt.ly/ZQ2Mryv)***. It consists of soprano vocalist ***Erin Welton*** and multi-instrumentalist ***Scott Ferrell***. His musicianship along with her crystal clear vocals, blend together to create a hybrid of shoegazing melodies textured with ethereal soundscapes.
Exploring the music of ***AGS*** is like awakening yourself to beauties you never knew slumbered inside you. At the center of this galaxy is a gathering of light by which is obliterated your darkest fears. It’s a visceral, celestial body that thrives on language, melody, and the generative force of which we all partake in being born.
The band’s sixth full length collection of luscious darkwave compositions built on swelling emotional moods ranging from beautifully tranquil to darkly morose, tells the tale of early Earth, from ***"[Archean Earth](https://cutt.ly/iQ296RO)"*** and ***"[Faint Young Sun](https://cutt.ly/rQ23wQN)"*** to ***"[Holocene](https://cutt.ly/iQ23QyW)"*** and ***"[Fauna](https://cutt.ly/LQ23W0j)"***.
> ***“Eifelian”*** vast wilderness, lonely yet peaceful, a serene planet, and lies on the darker side of the ***“Autumn’s Grey Solace”*** sound with an ample amount of melancholy tones.
>
> The close, intimate flow of the album's 14 songs suggests less of a direct evocation of that crush of time as it does a dreamy reflection on time and timelessness. From the start, ***Welton's*** heavily treated vocal sighs and ***Ferrell's*** acoustic/electric arrangements of classic gauzy shimmer never fully reinvent the form but elegantly explore it, a near hour's worth of enjoyably melancholic contemplations for late summer afternoons.

# ***"Ladytron" Biography***
***“Ladytron”*** are an English electronic music band from ***[Liverpool, England](https://cutt.ly/mWpsUji)***. Formed in 1999, the group consists of ***[Helen Marnie](https://cutt.ly/sWpsKhG)*** (*lead vocals*, *synthesizers*), ***[Mira Aroyo](https://cutt.ly/jWpsBZA)*** (*vocals*, *synthesizers*), ***[Daniel Hunt](https://cutt.ly/3Wps2XU)*** (*synthesizers*, *guitar*, *vocals*) and ***[Reuben Wu](https://cutt.ly/mWps5im)*** (*synthesizers*).
The band formed in 1999 when producers/DJs ***Hunt*** and ***Wu*** - a pair of friends who met in the mid-'90s - settled in ***Liverpool*** after traveling and spinning records in ***Japan***.
Taking their name from the ***“[Roxy Music](https://cutt.ly/DWpndZf)”*** song, they recorded their first single, ***"[He Took Her to a Movie](https://cutt.ly/iWo1LZf)"*** and soon after, they met vocalists/keyboardists ***Marnie*** and ***Aroyo***. Originally from *Scotland*, ***Marnie*** was working towards her *Bachelor of Arts* in pop music at the *University of Liverpool*; ***Aroyo*** was a *Bulgarian* postgraduate research geneticist at the *University of Oxford's Department of Biochemistry*.
***“Ladytron”*** combined crystalline melodies enveloped in icy textures and rippling arpeggios - with touches of *indie pop*, *shoegaze*, *disco*, and *industrial music*. They described their sound as *electronic pop*, while music journalists have also described their artwork as *synth-pop*, *electronic rock*, *post-punk* and *electroclash*.
While they never deviated much from this sound, they still conjured distinctly different moods on each album.
> ***“Ladytron”*** always had a stronger sense of melody and pop songcraft than most of the other artists associated with that style, and with electroclash all but dead, the band's identity comes through even more clearly. Much darker and less overtly synth pop than any of their earlier work, the third release, ***“Witching Hour”***, it's almost unrelentingly gloomy, covering topics like the fleeting nature of relationships, destruction, and war.
>
However, the album wears it well, conjuring a glamorous dystopia with songs like ***"[High Rise](https://cutt.ly/9Wo2ObC)"*** and ***"[Soft Power](https://cutt.ly/aWo2Ltb)"*** - it's not often that bleakness sounds this pretty. It also including the brilliantly melodramatic, ever-so-slightly gothy ***"[Destroy Everything You Touch](https://cutt.ly/xWo2GJA)"*** and ***"[International Dateline](https://cutt.ly/eWo2JRb)"*** which shows the band hasn't lost its touch when it comes to writing affecting breakup songs.
>
> ***"[Sugar](https://cutt.ly/eWo2JRb)"*** is a trippy blur of buzzsaw guitars and mechanical rhythms that take this sound in a noisy, poppy direction, while ***"[WhiteLightGenerator](https://cutt.ly/UWo256j)"*** and the wintry ***"[All the Way...](https://cutt.ly/cWo23wj)"*** end the album with a trancelike serenity.

**"Vivian Girls"*** are an American band from Brooklyn, New York. started in March 2007 as the trio of ***[Cassie Ramone (Grzymkowski)](https://cutt.ly/vnzc08H)*** (guitar/vocals), ***[Katy "Kickball Katy" Goodman](https://cutt.ly/Mnzc8zT)*** (bass/drums/vocals), and ***[Frankie Rose](https://cutt.ly/ynzve2r)*** (drums/bass/vocals).
Band named after the magnum opus of outsider author artist ***[Henry Darger](https://cutt.ly/bnzvoan)*** (titled *"The Story of the Vivian Girls, in What is Known as the Realms of the Unreal, of the Glandeco-Angelinian War Storm, Caused by the Child Slave Rebellion"*).
The band paired girl group melancholy with punk nihilism in reverb-heavy songs that recalled the raw, grainy beauty of lesser-known '90s independents like ***”[Black Tambourine](https://cutt.ly/pnzvsLY)”***, ***”[Talulah Gosh](https://cutt.ly/AnzvhqF)”***, and ***”[Tiger Trap](https://cutt.ly/qnzvzkr)”***.
In their initial seven-year run, the band toured the world and released new music constantly, the economic hooks and fuzzy urgency of their 2008 self-titled debut album becoming influential in their own right.
While only a band for a short while, they recorded a demo which included five original songs and a ***”Wipers”*** cover, and began to play locally in Brooklyn and Katy and Cassie's home state of New Jersey.
Within the first couple of months they had already developed a strong local following, supporting acts like ***”Jay Reatard”***, ***”[Sonic Youth](https://cutt.ly/xnzm13C)”*** and the ***”King Khan & BBQ Show”*** as well as finding kindred spirits in other locals like ***”Cause Co-Motion!”***, ***”Crystal Stilts”***, and ***”[Woods](https://cutt.ly/Lnzm3Yj)”***, with whom they’ve shared many bills and helped develop a local scene.
On the second album, ***"Everything Goes Wrong"***, the ***"Girls"*** didn't move the sound of debut release, filled with short, sharp, and punky songs influenced by C-86, shoegaze, girl groups, and classic punk rock played with a ramshackle abandon.
They bash through a collection of noisy songs that are a little punker and rawer than those on their previous album. Easystandable combination of window-rattling punk and more restrained indie pop makes for a nice balance and shows the band growing just the right amount.
***The Desert”*** is the fourth song on band’s second studio album ***"[Everything Goes Wrong](https://cutt.ly/wnxoj3U)"***,, released on September 8, 2009 by ***"[In the Red Records](https://cutt.ly/hnzKC2e)"***.
