The Forbidden Sound: Using Your Filter as a Sine Wave Oscillator
This video came as the result of a comment from someone who stated that only digital synthesizers could create sine waves. This is news to those of us who have been creating sine wave sounds on analog synthesizers for decades - including analog synthesizers that do not have a sine wave oscillator! I pull out the Roland JD-800, Roland's 1990's digital flagship synth, to explore some of the sounds it can create. I use my Boss RC-505 MKII looper for a bit, then give up and just play sounds as I find them. This synth is an absolute classic, and it has a monster sound.
