10: Skippers road New Zealand. Skipper’s road is 16.5 miles or 26.5 km long of essentially this, a cliffside road with a very steep drop. This road was hand carved by miners over 140 years ago.
9: Uttarakhand, India. There are a lot of roads in the state of Uttarakhand in india and many of them are very dangerous. Tight roads with loose rocks and rockslides are all real dangers in this region.
8: South Yungas Road, Bolivia. In 1978, this man, Tim Motao’s family went over the edge in a bus. Ever since he’s dedicated his life to being a human traffic light, helping people who drive this road daily. He simply holds up a green, yellow or red sign to indicate whose turn it is to go and collects tips in the process.
7: Zojila Pass India. It seems quite common for these mountain roads in India to be quite narrow and have big trucks on them. That’s where the danger comes from. Often trucks break down while impatient drivers try to go around and end up at the bottom of the mountain.
6: Khardung Pass, at 18,380 feet Khardung pass in the highest drivable road on earth. Once a popular silk trading route from India to China, this road is primarily populated with cargo trucks and military. At the very top is a military base where they have oxygen and beds if you’re feeling light headed. This is one of the major dangers of this road. Often drivers will simply pass out while driving as the elevation is so high, on top of that the snow is so dense that at any moment there can be a major avalanche. This road spans 83 miles or 134 km but wouldn’t recommend it unless it’s absolutely necessary.

The sleepbox in an ingenious idea that rents out small hotel boxes by the hour or by the night. The first application of the sleepbox was placing it in an airport but could prove to be popular in many other locations. Sleepbox rooms come 40 sq feet or 3.7 sq meters in size with single or double bed configurations. They rent for $30 an hour or $100 per night. With the sleepbox comes access to shared bathroom and shower facilities. The sleepbox can be setup anywhere and isn’t just for the airport. It’s just a matter of time before we see them popping up everywhere.
The sleepbox is just like a hotel in that you make an online reservation and then you check in once you get there. Current sleepbox is setup in Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport, Stockholm, and will open soon in Washington Dulles Airport, downtown Boston and plans for Atlanta. As this new hotel concept garners attention and gains traction, Sleepbox hopes to see their cheap, space efficient hotels in places like parks and office buildings. The park hotel concept would feature long glass tubes with sleep boxes set in the middle of a park. Not a bad view in the morning that’s for sure.
The office sleepbox has a different design, one that is more compact with basic space to sleep as well as a small desk. This could be a great addition to any office that uses it in certain situation and not to promote employees working all night.
Would you rather use a sleepbox vs a hotel at an airport if it saved you a bunch of money?

Deep within China is a stone Buddha bigger than all others. On this episode, we unveil the Leshan Giant Stone Buddha.
Located in the southern Sichuan province of China close to the city it’s named after, Leshan, this Buddha measures 232 feet or 71 meters tall.. Being the largest stone statue in the world and world’s largest of pre-modern times, this giant Buddha has been surpassed by other modern buddhas in size like the Ushiku Daibutsu in Japan and the Spring Temple Buddha in Henan China by almost twice the height. These modern constructions required far less work to create than the Leshan Buddha as it was carved out of the side of the river’s rocky edge.
The idea for the Leshan Buddha came from a Chinese cleric named Hai Tong back in 713. Turbulent stormy waters wreaked havok for ships traveling down the river, Hai Tong believed building a Giant Buddha at the junction where the Dadu, Minijang and Qingyi rivers met would provide safe protection for the ships and keep the conditions calm. He also believed that removing all that rock and putting it into the river would slow the current protecting the ships, which it did. Hai Tong initially raised some money and started the project but when problems with funding and the government arose he made a bold move by removing his own eyes as a statement to show his dedication and sincerity to the project. Many years had passed with the project on hold until a Sichuan Jiedushi funded Hai Tong’s vision completing construction in 803. The Leshan Giant Buddha was completed by 3 generations of craftsman working on it over a 90 year span of time. A clever drainage system was built into the body of the Buddha allowing rainwater to not pool at the bottom. A massive 13 story wooden building was built around the Leshan Buddha to give it further protection from the elements but was dismantled by the Mongols during a war.
Today a popular tourist attraction, the Leshan Giant Buddha can be viewed from the bottom or the top following a set of switchback staircases. The head alone measures 48 feet or 14.7 meters wide by 32 feet or 10 meters wide. Becoming a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996, this statue is said to be one of Maitreya Buddha, a successor to the preset one called Gautama Buddha. If you want to visit it, avoid doing so on Chinese holidays and bring some money for the admission fee. Busses and taxis both will get you to this site but the best view of the Buddha is from a boat.

The oxygen on this planet is directly linked to the ocean and its marine life. On this episode, we bring you 10 shocking facts about oxygen and the ocean.
10. Earth
Planet Earth’s weight excluding the core is made up of 49% oxygen, when including the core 30% of its total mass is oxygen. While abundant with oxygen the earth’s mantle doesn’t release free oxygen into the atmosphere, the only way free oxygen is released is from photosynthesis.
9. The Source
25% of all oxygen comes from plants, trees and vegetation on land the remaining, shocking right all those untouched mountain ranges full of trees combined only produce one quarter of the air we breathe. 75% comes from phytoplankton, algae, cyanobacteria and kelp in the ocean.
8. Atmosphere
The air we breathe is only contains 21% oxygen, 78% is nitrogen and the remaining 1% is made up of argon, carbon dioxide and methane, you know cow farts. Two-thirds of the weight of living creatures comes from oxygen, but aren’t human’s mostly made of water? True, the oxygen in water weighs 88.9% of its total mass.
