Turn your smartphone into a cassette recorder* - The ThumbsUp iRecorder
*Not actually a recorder, and doesn't fit anything larger than an iPhone 5. But it's still available new today, if you want one. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vUG2NhTY1w
A 1985 Sony CDP-30 and a 1991ish Sansui CD-X311. Both still play fine, but the Sony has a malfunctioning display, and the Onkyo needs a belt for the CD tray. I hope I can get the Sony fixed, because it is my favorite due to its small size, precise controls, and high quality Murata analog anti-aliasing filters.

A failed attempt at repairing a Dell W3000 LCD television from 2005. I thought the problem would be bad capacitors in the power supply, but it's more serious than that. This model has a reputation for being very unreliable, which is unfortunate, because it has some nice features, such as external speaker outputs.

With the proliferation of smartphones and other devices, I thought nobody would be using pagers anymore, but I found at least one channel that's still active. This is my Realistic PRO-2023 scanner receiving POCSAG pager data transmissions in the 152 MHz VHF communications band. There are computer programs which can capture the audio and decode the actual text that was being transmitted.

Don't try this at home! The new GE Edison and Sylvania Daylight Plus light bulbs look and act like ordinary incandescent bulbs, but actually contain a halogen capsule inside -- so they will still work even if the outer glass shell is broken, as I rather dangerously prove in this video. The Sylvania in particular uses an extremely thick outer glass shell which is very difficult to break.
By the way, I highly recommend these bulbs. They are brighter than ordinary incandescent bulbs and last three times as long, without any of the disadvantages of compact fluorescent bulbs (slow turn-on and warm-up, radio interference, greenish tint, dangerous mercury contamination when broken, etc.).

Some clips of my VW which I recorded and then forgot about. January 23, 2010: warm start, horn, old music on 87.7 WNYZ-LP (Channel 6 TV station acting as FM radio station). October 1, 2010: Fall rainstorm leaves a mess to clean up.

An old video I forgot about, recorded in November 2008. (Remember that old YouTube uploading screen?) This video was taken by a Jazz DV151 pocket camcorder I got for $30 at Wal-Mart. The resolution is only 320x240 and the video gets horrendously noisy in low light, but the quality of the microphone is surprisingly good. (Jazz is now out of business; I believe Emerson bought them out.)

Announcement on Westlife's Facebook page:
http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=10150363044019060
To commemorate the news that Westlife will be disbanding next year, I present my entire collection of physical media by them: CD albums, CD singles, cassettes, 45 RPM singles, and Video CDs. During the height of my interest in Westlife (admittedly bordering on obsession!), there was no YouTube back then, iTunes did not have their music yet, and it wasn't sold in stores here in the USA, so I had to buy it all directly from the UK. And ironically, Westlife's executive producer Simon Cowell came to be a much bigger success in America than the group itself ever was -- although Westlife did have one U.S. Top 20 hit in 2000, with their debut song "Swear It Again".
I always will be a huge fan of the kind of clean-cut, ballad-driven pop music that I grew up with in the '80s and '90s, and Westlife carried the torch for it longer than almost anyone else in my generation. And especially in today's media circus, that kind of staying power is greatly underappreciated. But Westlife have already proved their critics wrong by lasting 14 years, when most of the other groups in their genre only lasted 4 or 5.
I can't pick a single favorite Westlife song, but if I had to choose a Top 3:
"Obvious": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FY2d5CQuTdg
"If I Let You Go": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NrQei36fJk

Sony's first video camera for recording YouTube videos lasted only six months from product launch to closeout sale: the NSC-GC1 Net-Sharing Cam from 2007. Let's take a look at why it was such a failure.

I had almost given up hope of this Video Toaster ever working correctly until some advice from NJRoadfan led me to discover that the metal "shield" on the card is not electrically grounded, and must not touch the Amiga's grounded case or else it won't work!
