This week on The Wellness Way, Philly will be talking you through how stress affects the body, what we can do about it, and she’ll explain what we mean by healing peaks.

We all have traumas in our lives, big Ts and little Ts. The triggers build up from the moment we wake up from checking our social media, reading the news, rushing to get ready for work. They build up throughout the day and the stress causes inflammation in the body.
We need to release these stresses or else they get stuck in the body and manifest.
Dopamine is the feel good hormone which activates brain reward systems. Serotonin helps regulate mood, sleep, appetite, digestion, memory, and our ability to learn. Oxytocin, often called the love hormone, is essential for bonding relationships. Endorphins are our natural pain relievers which are activated by exercise, eating, and sex.
When everything gets too much for the body the mind will make an unconscious decision to restore and find a resolution to deal with that stress. You’ll get a sign that everything is not well. This is when we need to give our body a little help with rest, breathing, a cold shower, or tapping.
We can create healing peaks in our bodies to release the happy hormones through exercise, laughter, crying, massage, meditation, practising gratitude, and even through an orgasm.
