The Holy Spirit or Spirit of God has been around since God, or in other words, eternally. Here is what the Book of Matthew has to say about the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 1:18
Christ Born of Mary:
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 1:20
But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying,
“Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of *the Holy Spirit*.
Matthew 3:11
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the *Holy Spirit* and fire.
Matthew 12:32
Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the *Holy Spirit*,
it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.
Matthew 28:19
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the *Holy Spirit.*
Without the Holy Spirit Jesus would not have been conceived. Without conception no birth. Without HIS BIRTH death to all. Thank you Father for sending your Son to us to save us from eternal separation from you and death. Because Jesus was conceived by Holy Spirit He then passed it on to His disciples who then baptized many in the name of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
