A cute and weird VCD I came across, intended for Chinese children to learn English - although it is probably more useful for learning Chinese and much funnier if you watch it as someone who actually speaks English.

NTDTV's official YouTube Channel got taken down (AGAIN!) for some weird reason, so I thought it would be a good time to upload some of their noteworthy videos again and it's also to remind you guys that you can actually still find ALL their programming on their website: http://english.ntdtv.com - So just cause Google is probably bowing to China again doesn't mean they are gone - go visit their website, they don't only have news on human rights in China, but have 24 hour programming with live streaming.
Shen Yun Performing Arts has started its new season, with all news shows, in Augusta, Georgia.
Their global tour will see the performers again travel across four continents over the next five months with more than 50 shows scheduled for January alone.
Company Manager of Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company and choreographer Tia Zhang says although the program is new, the theme has not changed.
[Tia Zhang, Shen Yun Performing Arts]:
This is the first time Shen Yun Performing Arts has performed in Augusta, and this is the first stop on our global tour, so we are very excited. Our program is all new but our essence, our theme will never change to promote 5,000 years of Chinese traditional culture, divinely imparted culture.
Principal dancer Michelle Ren says audience members are going to see something very divine in this seasons program.
[Michelle Ren, Choreographer & Principal Dancer]:
For instance, our show this year displays the soft beauty of traditional women. Some (performances) portray Heavenly beauties and saints. Some portray mens masculinity. There are many, many different types of dance. Each performance is different, with different meaning, giving people different feelings. "
[Yungchia Chen, Choreographer & Principal Dancer]:
Last year, the Tibetan dance was mainly men's dance, men's Tibetan dance. This year's Tibetan dance has males and females dancing together, expressing the masculine beauty of the Tibetan men, and woman's soft beauty."

Support within China for jailed dissident Liu Xiaobo has been gaining pace online. And in response, the Chinese communist regime has moved to stamp out the voices of dissent.
On the popular Chinese search engine and forum Baidu.com, a search for Liu Xiaobos name comes up with this:
Sorry, in accordance with the relevant legal regulations and policies, this forum has been temporarily closed.
But its not just Lius name thats been censored. The term 11 Years—the length of Lius prison sentence—also appears to be barred.
Also censored is the phrase Sui Bo Zhu Liu—a pun on a Chinese proverb that translates to drifting with the tide. The phrase—with two of its characters sounding the same as Lius name—is being used by netizens to commemorate him.
Users on social networking website Twitter are paying respect to Liu with a symbolic yellow ribbon. And a support group for Liu has attracted nearly 1,000 members on Facebook. These websites are banned in China, but users are able to access them with special proxy software.
Liu, who turned 54 on Monday, co-authored the widely spread petition Charter 08 calling for democratic reform in China. He was sentenced to 11 years in prison on Christmas Day, after being charged with so-called inciting subversion of state power. The Chinese communist regime has been heavily criticized for the harsh sentence.
