James and I have been doing the Beatles' singles chronologically but given the recent release of the magnificent Get Back documentary, we decided to jump ahead for this one. I'm sure we'll get back to the chronology after this.

This is one of those songs where Pete Novitch, our bassist, came in with a bass lick that he wanted to turn into a full blown song. We found the chord changes and put it together--and voila!--another tune to be added to our upcoming record. Our magnificently talented drummer, Eric Huezo, does a killer drum solo here. Kudos, E!

The song is sung from the point of view of a soldier stationed overseas during World War II, writing a letter to his family. In the message, he tells the family he will be coming home and to prepare the holiday for him, and requests snow, mistletoe, and presents on the tree. The song ends on a melancholy note, with the soldier saying, "I'll be home for Christmas, if only in my dreams"

Just going through some of the basic before getting into the heavy lifting. Please pardon the dorky edit. I'm still learning to use video editing software and the learning curve is a bit of a pain to say the least.
