In fact, it says, “The message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart.” And that message is the very message about faith that we preach: If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. God made it so simple that short people, tall people, beautiful people, intellectual people, nonintellectual people, moral, immoral, and amoral people can all receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. Salvation is so simple. It is a gift from God, offered to you as freely as it was offered to the thief on the cross. If you have never received this free gift, you can do so today by praying this prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, You said in Your Word, “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART THAT JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR YOUR SINS, WAS BURIED, AND THAT GOD RAISED JESUS FROM THE DEAD. This is trusting with all of your heart that Jesus Christ is who he said he is. CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD. Romans 10:9 it says, “If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and will believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Every single person who has ever lived since Adam will bend their knee and confess with their mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings.
