This was the second flight with the new camera Sony A7s II. Also on board was a Go Pro Hero 4 Black. The hero 4 was used to gauge the performance of the Sony. The Sony camera setting were as follows:
F stop (auto most of the flight was F1.8), Focus (manual too infinity), ISO 102400, Lens Sony FE 50mm F1.8
The GoPro Hero 4 Black had a fix focus 5.4mm lens F stop F2.8 ISO was 6400.
The flight was launched from a field South of Dos Palos, Ca. on 24 July 2019 at about 02:42am PDT, and Landed in a Almond grove south of Patterson, Ca.
I haven't had time to analyze video yet, but while viewing through the footage I notice something interesting. When the sun got close to stars it seemed to switch them off. It seemed as though the energy from the sun effected the light from the stars even when the stars were still in darkness. I will do a complete analysis of this video and upload my results on my next video.

This is a redo of the eastern sky the earlier had cloud cover and light noise from street lights. This time I had a clear night and I elevated the camera to about 65 degrees above the horizon to reduce light noise. Camera used was a GoPro Hero 4 Black with a 7.2mm lens. Location Santa Nella, Ca.

The wind blew over the camera while it was recording this one. I got some good footage from two angles on this one. Enjoy.

At about 1:01:08 you can see a jet plane fly by.
This is one year anniversary launch. The goals for this launch was to test repairs to Garmin camera and achieve a altitude of 150,000 feet.
My son and his wife flew out form Texas for this launch and we had fun doing the launch.

High Altitude Balloon 17
Launched from Santa Nella, Ca. on 26 Oct. 2018 at 13:17 PDT.
Landed Northeast of Firebaugh, Ca. 26 Oct. 2018 at 15:55 PDT.
Maximum Altitude 96,225 Feet.
One Camera onboard GoPro Hero 4 Black with a 5.4mm Lens.
Goal, Test new cut down procedure.
Here is something interesting that I didn't mention in the video. The temperature swing. At launch the Temperature was about 87 degrees F. The coldest temperature recorded during accent was at a altitude of about 50,117 feet GPS with a temperature around -35 degrees F. Than the temperature started warming back up to a temperature around 23 degrees F at burst altitude 96,225 feet. The temperature started dropping as the capsule approached 53,000 feet Barometric the GPS wasn't working correctly because it lost its lock. The temperature bottomed out around -40 at this time. The temperature began to rise again the closer the capsule got to the ground. My data logger failed at about 50,000 feet so I don't know what the temperature was at landing site but temperature was in the 80's that day. When the data logger failed towards the end of the flight I used the data recorded from my radio tracker, that device dose not record temperature and the last track I got from that device was a little under 900 feet.

This is a science fair project my son performed last year. It got me thinking about the ocean tides and what could cause them. It deals with the magnetic properties of water.
