So after watching some tutorials about DaVinci audio exporting and doing some lazy eq'ing to help compensate somewhat for my crappy preset at the time, I was able to improve the video quality to "slightly above Nokia phone speaker" quality, as opposed to my previous "Nokia phone speaker inside the engine bay of a running diesel truck" quality.
A short video showing the tonal differences between the Fishman Fluence Modern Ceramic and Alnico pickup when used in the bridge position. I am working on a longer 8-string comparison video with the Stephen Carpenter and Abasi set as well, but I had yet to see a Ceramic vs Alnico comparison for an 8-string on YouTube, so now there is. And yes, my 8-string is a 6-string now because of how many times I've restrung it recently (without actually changing the strings). I have the High Frequency-Tilt engaged for all of the clips to knock off some of the high-end.
The thing that has put me (and I think others as well) off with Fishman Fluences is that squeaky top-end and worse dynamics (when compared to a passive pickup). However, putting the Alnico in the bridge really made both of these issues a lot more manageable. Even when I know what I am listening for having just played them both (Ceramic vs Alnico) back-to-back, I noticed an even bigger difference in feel than in sound. I visualize the Alnico as more melodic/rich and the ceramic as more percussive/cutting.
I prefer the Javier Reyes set the most, but the Alnico is a good alternative when you need a Fishman in a soapbar housing. Just make sure your rig has enough flexibility, especially to increase the amp's drive, considering the lower output of the Alnico. Highly recommend trying it out if you aren't satisfied with your current Ceramic Fluence Modern! (Note: as of this re-release, I would actually just recommend getting a different pickup than a Fluence Modern. I really wanted to like the Fluence Modern Series, but I'm done trying to justify what my ears say with what my brain [and Ken Susi] are telling me.

Hopefully this preset is better than the last 8-string shootout. If you think you can do better (and I'm sure you can), I've got some DI files for you—in both WAV and AIFF. You're welcome.
Here is my new Telegram channel where you can download the DI's:

Relax... Telegram is just a free messenger like WhatsApp—only way better. It has lot of customizable group functions, so I created a group for me to post guitar things (more nuts and bolts as opposed to polished YouTube stuff). Let me know if you can access the DI's okay, as this is sort of a beta test. BTW, Telegram has a desktop app, which will obviously be much easier for getting the files into your DAW. Hope you can make use of them!
I think my favorites were the Classics, along with the EMG 81 or 85.

Just a short demo since I don't have time for an extensive one right now. However, I noticed there are very few clips of Javier's signature set online, so I thought I'd go ahead and put something out since I own and love the set. Also—I don't know what I'm doing with video and audio production if you can't tell. Maybe one day...

Hence, the empty space after the intro.

A short comparison between the Fishman Fluence Javier Reyes Signature Set and the Classic/Open Core Set. I couldn't find any A/B comparisons online, so I ended up just doing one myself.
