SYNOPSIS
The 1921 National Coal Strike hit the Welsh town of Tonypandy hard, with officers from the Metropolitan Police Service and armed soldiers drafted in to quell the riots and contain the protesters. In this documentary, we hear from some of the men who were there at the time. Elderly miners describe their working lives from childhood to retirement, with reference to the 1921 strike and its effects upon the people of Tonypandy.
